Gonzo, the cranky koala, is a villager from the Animal Crossing series. His initial phrase, "mate", is a common way for an Australian to refer to a friend. He originally appeared in the original games up to Doubutsu no Mori e+, although he was planned to appear in Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer but was cut. He eventually returned in Animal Crossing: New Leaf - Welcome amiibo as an amiibo card villager.
Characteristics
Appearance
Gonzo is a gray koala. He has slanted eyebrows that make him appear angry. He has large gray ears with pink inside of them and a tuft of gray hair on the top of his head. His eyebrows are white, and he initially wears the Earthy Knit.

Gonzo is a cranky villager, obviously implying that he is often grumpy. He will get along with snooty villagers who have similar cold and rude personalities. He might make some rude remarks about peppy villagers, and will admire lazy villagers laid-back lifestyle.

In Animal Crossing, Gonzo has a boxing ring for a house. He has quite a bit of the Professional Wrestling series, and owns a bit of Gyroids. No music plays because he does not have a stereo.
In Animal Crossing: New Leaf - Welcome Amiibo, Gonzo's house/RV now resembles a bank. If he has a stereo in his house, it will play "K.K. D&B."
