Golden tool
Golden tools are upgraded versions of tools found in all Animal Crossing series games, being rarer, but even better than silver tools. Tools that can be found golden include the Axe, Fishing Rod, Net, Shovel, Slingshot, and Watering Can.
In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, golden tools are breakable, unlike previous games. However, they are significantly more durable than regular or flimsy tools. Golden tools are made via DIY, with each requiring the regular version of said tool and a single Gold Nugget in order to craft them.
Golden Axe
Players can obtain a Golden Axe by doing the following in each game. Golden axes never break, and cut trees faster. They may also leave special patterns on the stumps.
In Animal Crossing, after 15 days of a perfect town, players must speak to Farley.
In Animal Crossing: Wild World, players can complete some steps to receive the Golden Axe. This axe never breaks.
The method for obtaining the golden axe in Animal Crossing: City Folk is similar to obtaining a silver axe; the player must throw the axe into the town fountain and then sweet-talk Serena to get an axe.
In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, once players have purchased 50 saplings, Leif offers a Golden Axe for the player to buy.
In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, once players break 100 axes in total, the character will automatically learn the Golden Axe recipe.
Golden Rod
Players can obtain a Golden Fishing Rod by doing the following each game. Golden fishing rods attract fish better than the other two types of fishing rod.
In Animal Crossing, players get the Golden Rod by catching all species of fish and then talking to Tortimer the next day.
In Animal Crossing: Wild World, the player must catch all the fish in the game. They will then be mailed the Golden Rod.
In Animal Crossing: City Folk, the method is identical to Animal Crossing
In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, once players have caught all species of fish, they can talk to Chip during the Fishing Tourney to receive the Golden Rod.
In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the player must catch all 80 fish in the game. The next day, they will be mailed the Golden Rod recipe.
Golden Net
Players can obtain a Golden Net by doing the following in each game. Golden Nets have the largest radius of the three types of nets.
In Animal Crossing, once players have caught all bugs, they can talk to Tortimer the next day to receive a Golden Net.
In Animal Crossing: Wild World, the method is nearly the same. Once players have caught all bugs, they receive a letter the next day with the Golden Net attached.
In Animal Crossing: City Folk, the method is nearly the same as the one in Animal Crossing; players must catch every bug species and then talk to Tortimer.
In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, the method is, again, nearly identical. Once players have caught all bug species, they can talk to Nat in the next Bug Off to receive a Golden Net.
In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the player again needs to catch all 80 bugs. The next day, the player will be mailed the DIY Recipe for the Golden Net.
Golden Shovel
Players can obtain a Golden Shovel by doing the following each game. Golden shovels can dig up 100 Bells at random in Animal Crossing while they plant Bells to grow money trees in the later games.
In Animal Crossing, players need to dig a "shiny" spot containing 1,000 Bells. Then, they can bury a Shovel. Soon, a tree bearing the Golden Shovel grows.
In Animal Crossing: Wild World, players can bury a normal shovel. Once they dig up it with another shovel the next day, they get a Golden Shovel.
In Animal Crossing: City Folk, bury a regular shovel and dig it up in 3 days with another shovel
In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, once players have bought 50 Fertilizer Bags, Leif offers them a Golden Shovel.
In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the player is mailed the recipe for the Golden Shovel after finding Gulliver's Communicator Parts 30 times.
Golden Slingshot
Players can obtain a Golden Slingshot by doing the following in each game. Golden slingshots shoot three consecutive pebbles, more than the other two types.
In Animal Crossing: Wild World, once players have destroyed 14 balloons, the next balloon is a gold balloon carrying the Golden Slingshot. If players fail to shoot down the balloon, it will reappear shortly after, possibly two to three presents later.
In Animal Crossing: City Folk the method for obtaining the Golden Slingshot is identical to the method in Wild World. There are three balloons holding the Slingshot.
In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, this method remains unchanged from the previous games.
In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the method is similar but requires 300 destroyed balloons. The gold balloon contains the DIY recipe for the Golden Slingshot, additionally the gold balloon may not appear immediately after popping 300 balloons
Golden Watering Can
Players can obtain a Golden Watering Can by doing the following in each game. Golden Watering Cans have a larger radius, and they can transform wilted black roses into golden roses.
In Animal Crossing: Wild World, players must maintain the perfect town status for 15 consecutive days. Then, they can receive one from the Civic Center.
In Animal Crossing: City Folk, the method is identical.
In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, the method is identical. Players must talk to Isabelle to receive one.
In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the player must achieve a five-star island rating in order to unlock the recipe for the Golden Watering Can.
