Hourly Weather Types

  1. Bright & clear
  2. Sunny
  3. Cloudy
  4. Rain Clouds
  5. Rain/Snow
  6. Heavy Rain/Snow

Daily Weather Types

  1. Sunny (Almost always Sunny or bright & clear with the occasional Cloudy spell that always clears up after a few hours.)
  2. Sunny then Cloudy (Sunny conditions that last for hours before turning Cloudy for the rest of the day with a few hours of Rain occasionally thrown into the mix.)
  3. Other (Slight variations of Sunny pattern that influence the appearance of sunset and sunrise throughout the year.)
  4. Rain (Expect Rain or Heavy Rain for the majority of the day with the occasional short break that lasts a few hours.)
  5. Occasional Rain (Sunny or bright & clear days with a guaranteed hour of Rain or Heavy Rain between 12AM and 3PM.)
  6. Rainy then Cloudy (Rain with occasional Heavy Rain between 6AM and 2PM followed by Cloudy conditions.)
  7. Cloudy (Mostly Cloudy conditions but it can occasionally Rain or get Sunny for a few hours.)
  8. Cloudy then Sunny (Cloudy conditions mixed with Rain between 5AM and 2PM, but Sunny or bright & clear for the rest of the day.)
  9. Cloudy then Rainy (Cloudy for hours before giving way to Rain or Heavy Rain for the remainder of the day.)

Rainbow
  • A rainbow will sometime form in the sky in the hour following Rain or Heavy Rain if the weather changes to bright & clear or sunny. Rainbows only appear for 45 minutes. There's 50% chance you'll witness a double rainbow.

Aurora
  • The aurora borealis can only be seen on bright & clear nights during Winter's snowy period. Auroras can be announced by Isabelle or mentioned by residents.

Thunderstorms
  • Thunderstorms have a chance to form during Heavy Rain and last anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes before subsiding. The best time to spot them is between September 1 and September 15 when heavy rainfall is most likely to occur.

  • Fog can be seen blanketing the island or hanging over the water for a few hours in the morning. Fog will only appear if the previous day's weather was poor and the current weather is sunny with weak winds.
