Lists by month
Trivia
- Under unique circumstances and dedication, it is possible to complete the New Horizons Critterpedia in the Southern Hemisphere in only 4 months total from the game's launch on March 20, 2020 via online play. This is possible since there's a good majority of bugs available from March to June, including bugs that cannot be obtained online, such as the Walking Leaf, the Mosquito, and the Dung Beetle. For any other bugs that can't be caught on their island, players could then travel to a Northern Hemisphere island to obtain otherwise out-of-season bugs such as the Peacock Butterfly and the Firefly. A player in the Southern Hemisphere could therefore complete the Critterpedia in no less than July 1st, while a player in the Northern Hemisphere would have to wait until December 11th to complete the Critterpedia since one bug, the Dung Beetle, is impossible to obtain when playing online as their spawn location, snowballs, will not appear in online sessions.
