Licensing

I'd just like to thank you for creating the first of our licensing templates. I'll be implementing MediaWiki's official licensing selection for uploads soon, and your contribution is really a great start. Thanks again! --Jake 23:09, 2 December 2010 (EST)

Sure, no problem. ~SuperHamster Talk 23:12, 2 December 2010 (EST)

Capitalization

It appears that I was too quick to correct the capitilization of some pages. For some reason it appears that the current standard has all words besides the first without a capital. While I understand that in game items are typically spelled in all lower-case lettering, I do not believe it correct to have page titles with lower-case words. Could you please rationalize this decision for me? (I think it looks terrible and sloppy, but that's just me.)--Dvorakelt 22:14, 7 February 2012 (EST)

It basically comes down to being grammatically correct (not very exciting reasoning, I know). No way is really better and both are justifiable; our system of lower-casing titles is just the way the standard has developed. Wikipedia has similar standards in titling their own articles. Here is a little discussion from last year where we discussed and decided on capitalization conventions for fish and insect articles. ~SuperHamster Talk 22:25, 7 February 2012 (EST)
I checked and it appears that Wikipedia does the same thing. I suppose it is just me then. Thanks! Sorry for any inconvenience I caused in my hastiness... --Dvorakelt 22:38, 7 February 2012 (EST)
Nah, it's not just you, I can see the argument that capitalizing all words could look better. It's a title after all. No worries though, that's the beauty of a wiki ;) ~SuperHamster Talk 22:41, 7 February 2012 (EST)

Friend Code

What is your Friend Code?Pokemon9

Hey, sorry, I haven't played Animal Crossing in a long while. Check out the Bulletin Board though for some people who may be interested :) ~SuperHamster Talk 02:49, 28 May 2012 (EDT)

Hey SuperHamster thanks for correcting me on villagers and characters it's appericiated thanks

Adding Bugs

Hi, I don't know if this is the proper procedure, but I've been going around the wiki fixing up things, and I noticed that the Rainbow Stag isn't even listed as a bug. There is no connection between the Rainbow Stag Article and the insect category page. Can you add the connection? I don't seem like I have that power...--BellBank 21:26, 12 July 2012 (EDT)

'Ello - I went ahead and added the article to Category:Insect. Thanks a lot for pointing that out. In the future, note that you do have the power to add articles to categories :) Simply add the category you want to the bottom of the page, with the "Category:" prefix and double brackets, like this:

Thanks for all your contributions so far. ~SuperHamster Talk 00:37, 13 July 2012 (EDT)

Featured image template

Hello, can you change Template:Main_Page/Featured_Image to say Shizue instead of Shizu? Zharkaer 21:45, 12 July 2012 (EDT)

Done, thanks for pointing that out, and thanks for all your contributions so far! ~SuperHamster Talk 00:38, 13 July 2012 (EDT)
Thanks man. Zharkaer 00:52, 13 July 2012 (EDT)

Rename

Hello,

Nice to meet you! I'm, Sdgsgfs an user in this wiki. Well, I'm not really new to editing nor the Animal Crossing City (was shocked about the moving thing, but was a good idea actually). I want to rename myself, since the name is kinda not professional, so can you please, rename me to "Wolfgang"?

Thank you, Sdgsgfs 13:27, 11 August 2012 (EDT)

Done, you've been renamed to Wolfgang :) Thanks for your contributions so far, keep up the great work! ~SuperHamster Talk 16:34, 11 August 2012 (EDT)

Hello

Hello,

Nice to meet you! I'm, Wolfgang an admin and bureaucrat in Club Penguin Wiki. I have recently moved from Wikia, I'm not new to Nookipedia. But I noticed many admins and lead editors are inactive, you must consider demoting inactive users that are inactive since 2010 and promoting active ones. Sorry if I'm interfering, but I want the best for here.

Thank you, Wolfgang 12:36, 14 August 2012 (EDT)

Hey again. Thanks for the concern. We're currently in the slow process of doing that - we're just about to promote a fairly new, yet active and experienced user to adminship. However, it does take a bit of time for users to become experienced enough with editing this wiki, and for us to determine who is fit to be a staff member. Right now the majority of active users here are doing a great job editing, but still need a bit more time and experience before they're ready to become part of the staff. Moving too quickly to promote active users would be a bad idea if the users are unprepared and inexperienced, but as soon as I and other staff members feel a user is ready to be promoted, they will be. If you'd like some tips regarding what you can do yourself to show that you are prepared for becoming a staff member, let me know. Thanks again. ~SuperHamster Talk 12:51, 14 August 2012 (EDT)
I completely agree with Wolfgang, sorry for barging in. As such, I'm a lot more used to an active staff on Zelda Wiki, this makes me more comfortable while editing because I know most of my mistakes can be fixed. I think we really do need to start going through a slow-but steady process of demoting and promoting... As such, I understand how hard it is to get promoted.. I'm one of the more general active and effiecent users on Zelda Wiki and I'm still an autocomfirmed. It comes down to the overall quality of your edits, not quanity. Making 5000 edits that aren't good, won't get you promoted. --XXSuperXXNintendoXx 18:31, 14 August 2012 (EDT)
Definitely correct, as much as we need an active and experienced staff though, we need an active user base to promote in the first place. In the next few weeks I think we could see a few promotions, though :) Thanks for the input guys, it's appreciated. Me and the few other staff will keep an eye out for when we think any editors have shown the knowledge and skill to become part of the staff. ~SuperHamster Talk 00:27, 15 August 2012 (EDT)
I'm joining in this conversation too. :P Although I'm not as active as I used to be, I believe that is due to a lack buzz surrounding Animal Crossing. With the lack of info recently, I'm not surprised some of the staff here have decided to jump ship. The reason that not a lot has been done with the staff recently is because with the number that are inactive, removing all of them would make us a very bare-bones wiki. I'm also involved on the forums on promoting users as I believe that when the flood of info comes out (late this year) the tools need to be in the hands of the people who are using them and not the people who used to use them. Leem01 10:40, 17 August 2012 (EDT)

Hello

Hello,

I forget to add licenses ;D. I'm totally sorry for that, I'll make sure to add from now on.

Thank you, Wolfgang 09:04, 15 August 2012 (EDT)

Heh, no problem. Thanks for all the awesome image uploads, they really help. Keep up the great work :) ~SuperHamster Talk 15:16, 15 August 2012 (EDT)

Hello again

Hello,

SuperHamster I want to ask you (I usually ask in any wiki I join). How's my progress here? Am I helping out here in a good way? Are my edits done neatly? Any advice you wanna give me to improve myself?

Sorry for many questions, but I do ask that to make sure I do things right :).

Thank you, Wolfgang 16:58, 21 August 2012 (EDT)

I'm not SuperHamster, but I have known a lot of great editors throughout NIWA and you're doing a great job, especially with the image uploads. I have a question are you familar with transparency of images (aka taking out the backround of the object you captured? --XXSuperXXNintendoXx 17:17, 21 August 2012 (EDT)
I'm an admin and bureaucrat in Club Penguin Wiki, and ya of course I know how to make transparent images. I have a good experience in images side and articles. ;) Wolfgang 19:39, 21 August 2012 (EDT)
Agreed with XXSuperXXNintendoXx, you've been doing great work, especially with your image uploads - they've been making a huge improvement to the wiki, so thanks for that :) Just some tips regarding editing, you can always use the "preview" function before saving edits to make sure everything works out fine (no red links, no format errors, etc.). Also, any time you want to link to Animal Crossing game articles, such as Animal Crossing: Wild World or Animal Crossing: City Folk, you should use the link templates. For example, putting CF into an article will produce Animal Crossing: City Folk. Other then that, keep up the great work! You can always work on expanding articles if you wish to move on to other things. Maybe we'll see a promotion sometime in the future ;) ~SuperHamster Talk 22:45, 21 August 2012 (EDT)

Hello again

Hello,

It's me Wolfgang, you can notice I didn't edit much recently the reason is I travelled to Kuwait and gonna be back in 2 days, so please don't thing left this wiki :).

Thank you, Wolfgang 01:35, 27 August 2012 (EDT)

School

Hello, I just wanted to inform you of the reason as of why I can' get on as much as I used to. I have school and have had this cold for a few weeks now. However, I'm mostly settled in and will try to patrol the majority of a week's edits and contributions... unless I'm busy with schoolwork or with friends and such :). Also, I wondered how my progress as a patroller is so far. This is new to me and I wondered if I was doing it correctly, thanks! --XXSuperXXNintendoXx 23:52, 10 September 2012 (EDT)

Not a problem - hope you feel better with that cold :) I think everyone has one, now that school has started back up...
Anyway, you seem to be doing just fine. Patrolling edits that are appropriate for the wiki, and reverting any that aren't is the right way to go. Thanks for the work so far! ~SuperHamster Talk 23:55, 10 September 2012 (EDT)

User Name

Is it just me or does my user name come up as "Mlnintendo97"? If it does, can you please change it to "mlnintendo97", I has been kinda bugging me lately and I have wondered if the wiki just does that. Thanks! mlnintendo97 was here!!!! 00:45, 29 September 2012 (EDT)

The way the wiki is set up, all usernames have their first letter automatically capitalized. Sorry! ~SuperHamster Talk 12:18, 29 September 2012 (EDT)

Oh, that clears up things. Thanks for the help!!!! (P.S: I don't know if you noticed, but when you go to make or reply to, even post a status on the Bulletin Boards, it is giving members a server error, I have tried to notify Jake, but he isn't responding. I used his e-mail by the way. mlnintendo97 was here!!!! 01:46, 30 September 2012 (EDT)

I did notice that happening to me on certain boards, looks like it's happening to the entire forum too, then...which also explains why we haven't got back to you on your staff request yet. Sorry about that! I'll see if I can figure anything out, but Jake is in charge and has the know-how of the mechanics of the site, so hopefully he'll respond soon. Thanks for bringing that up. ~SuperHamster Talk 11:12, 30 September 2012 (EDT)

No Problem!!!! :D mlnintendo97 was here!!!! 18:05, 1 October 2012 (EDT)

Birthday Question

Is it ok if I can add my birthday to the June 15th Page or does that conflict with Wiki Policy? - unsigned comment from Mlnintendo97 (talkcontribs)

Those birthday pages are only for villager birthdays in Animal Crossing. Birthdays can and will be celebrated on the forums, though :) ~SuperHamster Talk 13:46, 4 October 2012 (EDT)

Ok, I just wanted to make sure it is ok before I edit myself in there, thanks!!! mlnintendo97 was here!!!! 18:54, 4 October 2012 (EDT)

Help

Sorry for how much I have been bugging you on here, but I have a HUGE problem on my userpage. I was trying to add a wikitable around my userboxes and I wanted them to go vertical, but it came out as horizontal. I was planning on doing this with all of my userboxes and putting them into categories (ex: All Animal Crossing userboxes in one wikitable, Nookipedia related userboxes in another.) Can you help me out with this and fix it? You can post the proper code here for me so I can learn from this MAJOR mistake if you want. Thanks! mlnintendo97 was here!!!! 23:58, 5 October 2012 (EDT)

Hey, no problem, glad to help! I went ahead and fixed up your Animal Crossing userboxes if that's all right. Hopefully I did what you wanted? Here's a quick run-down of how I made a vertices set of tables. Basically, starting a "|-" creates a new line, while "|" creates a new cell on that line. The following code would produce a table with three vertical cells.

align="center" | *insert content here*
align="center" | *insert content here*
align="center" | *insert content here*

Now, say you wanted a table with three rows, and two columns. Here is how you would do that:

align="center" | *insert content here*
align="center" | *insert content here*
align="center" | *insert content here*
align="center" | *insert content here*
align="center" | *insert content here*
align="center" | *insert content here*

Hopefully this made a bit of sense. Give it a try with your other userboxes? If you need any more help, just holler :) Wikipedia also has some nice examples of tables here. Also remember to sign your posts on talk pages ;) ~SuperHamster Talk 23:17, 5 October 2012 (EDT)

I kinda wanted a wikitable with an outline on it, but I guess it will work for now, and thanks with helping me out with it. I almost forgot to ask! With the Bulletin Boards down and all due to server errors, what was the staff's decision to my request of becoming a staff member? You can send what they thought over to my e-mail at <retracted>. mlnintendo97 was here!!!! 00:06, 6 October 2012 (EDT)

Ohh, if you want a border, try replacing the first line of the table I gave you with this:
Hopefully that fits what you want. As for your request, the staff never actually got a chance to discuss it, since the boards have been down and that's our main method of communication, sorry about that! I will shoot you a quick email though about it :) (I've also removed your email from the page, to protect against potential spambots). Thanks, ~SuperHamster Talk 00:57, 6 October 2012 (EDT)

Thanks for removing my e-mail, I never would of thought of that! I just read your e-mail, my response is on it's way! Thanks again for the help on the wikitable! :D mlnintendo97 was here!!!! 02:24, 6 October 2012 (EDT)

I am sorry for how much I keep on asking for help on this darn wikitable, but I am trying to get my Userboxes About Me at the top along with my Animal Crossing Userboxes. I have tried Wikipedia's way, but it doesn't seem to be working. mlnintendo97 was here!!!! 02:24, 6 October 2012 (EDT)

No problem at all :) How about trying to make another table to store each set of userboxes in? Make a table with 1 row and 2 columns, and put your Animal Crossing userboxes in one cell, and your About Me userboxes in another. Give that a shot, and if you need help, let me know. ~SuperHamster Talk 11:49, 6 October 2012 (EDT)

Jump Out Box on Main Page

Hi SH,

Just wanted to drop by here and say well done for creating the awesome Jump Out box on the main page, it looks really nice.

--Leem01 10:54, 6 October 2012 (EDT)

Ohh, awesome, thanks! =) ~SuperHamster Talk 11:49, 6 October 2012 (EDT)

Nookipedia:The Bulletin Board

I was wondering if I can bring back the Nookipedia:The Bulletin Board page since The Bulletin Board is once again down. Leem01 was the one who created it last time, but he hasn't recreated it, so is it ok? mlnintendo97 was here!!!! 01:31, 9 October 2012 (EDT)

Looks like Leem just took care of it :) Totally forgot that alternative existed, thanks! I've updated the temporary Bulletin Board page with info on the alternative forum. ~SuperHamster Talk 15:17, 9 October 2012 (EDT)
Yeah, sorry for stealing the job :P, hopefully it gets used a bit more this time. I can't remember if we put a link in the sidebar last time, do you think we need to? Leem01 15:55, 9 October 2012 (EDT)
Haha, no problem, glad you did. Doesn't matter in the end who does it. :) And meh, I don't think we need to change the target of the sidebar link. Linking to the broken Bulletin Boards, which then has a link to the on-wiki forum is good enough as I see it, but I'm not against linking in the sidebar, either. ~SuperHamster Talk 23:31, 9 October 2012 (EDT)

User:Beanoz4 has edited my Userpage.

(embarrassing content removed) --mlnintendo97 was here!!!!

To me it looks like Beanoz was editing with good faith (I recomend reading the article, it's an important priciple of any wiki). By the looks of it, Beanoz is happy with his userpage and doesn't want any help. As for protection, I'll be happy to protect your userpage. Thanks. ~SuperHamster Talk 18:00, 20 October 2012 (EDT)

Oh yea, I forgot all about that, thanks for the protection of my userpage! As for the article, I am reading it now, I will let you know what I think about it! --mlnintendo97 was here!!!! 19:03, 20 October 2012 (EDT)

Yeo, no problem. Just expanding on what I said, you do have final say on your userpage, but for something like this, there's no need for admin action :) Just letting Beanoz know you don't want your userpage touched should be good enough :) ~SuperHamster Talk 19:20, 20 October 2012 (EDT)

Well, that has been kinda difficult lately due to a disagreement on Facebook, so he is kinda mad at me for whatever reason, so I am now trying make peace of this whole situation before he starts doing a edit war on my pages... mlnintendo97 was here!!!! 20:37, 20 October 2012 (EDT)

Animal Crossing 3DS Name Change - Text Replace

Hi again, it's me. With the name change to New Leaf (I'm already calling it NL), rather than having to edit tons of articles, can't we do a text replace thingy. I think the directors can do it as Jake did it in the past when we went to Nookipedia. Just thought this may be an easier idea. Leem01 03:20, 27 October 2012 (EDT)

I can see that in the special pages list, but it loads to a blank page, so I probably don't have permission. But yes, it is very possible and simple. Super (duh...)AlpacaDoggie Mask.gif 11:46, 27 October 2012 (EDT)
Hey guys - I've thought of that before, but like SuperAlpaca, I get a server error every time I try to open the text replace page. I think it's supposed to be that both Bureaucrats and Directors have the right to use text replacing, but it looks like something is wrong with it server-wise and Jake will have to look at it. On the bright side, I think we've manually fixed all instances of Animal Crossing: Jump Out, and the only thing left being to update categories. ~SuperHamster Talk 12:13, 27 October 2012 (EDT)
Since I got that when I tried to learn the page, I thought it was only available to directors. At least we're able to do it manually :D Leem01 17:26, 30 October 2012 (EDT)
Oh yea, of course...I'll be willing to do it manually as soon as you are XD It took me a while to think of, but I ended up using Wikipedia's AutoWikiBrowser, which surprisingly works with Nookipedia, to quickly go through and replace the remaining Jump Out categories. ~SuperHamster Talk 23:25, 30 October 2012 (EDT)

Thanks For the Welcome

I'm really excited for New Leaf, and I just watched the Nintendo Direct video. Thought it would be fun to add some new info as I wait for the American release.--SpideyCanThrash 01:23, 4 November 2012 (EST)

No problem! We're all excited for the release (which is a while away...euurrgghh). There already is so much new information to add, and with the release of the game, there will be even more, so the more, the merrier :) Hope to see you around! ~SuperHamster Talk 01:27, 4 November 2012 (EST)

Signature Help

Hey, this is mlnintendo97 again, I am trying use coding in my signature to make it look better. I have been encountering this when I use it (- <span style="color:Teal;">mlnintendo97</span> (<span style="color:Fuchsia;">talk</span>) 19:34, 4 November 2012 (EST)). It is suppose to look like this (Template:Mlnintendo97). How can I fix this? -mlnintendo97

Hey there, I'm currently away from home and on my phone, so I can't take a good look at it right now. I'll be back Tuesday, but hopefully someone else could help you before then. Sorry about that. ~SuperHamster Talk 00:25, 5 November 2012 (EST)

it is okay, I messaged User:Leem01 for help and I am about to test out his suggestion now. -mlnintendo97

Did we ever get replace text working?

I ask this due to my need to both immediately (non-urgently) and in the near-ish future (when it is done, it will be vital). So, in summary of one sentence with another, just read the headline and reply yes/no. Super (duh...)AlpacaDoggie Mask.gif 19:15, 13 November 2012 (EST)

In one word...nope. I brought it up on Jake's talk page, but I'll ask him again. Also noticed that the same error comes up when trying to edit interwiki links. ~SuperHamster Talk 23:03, 13 November 2012 (EST)

Nookipedia E-mails

Hey, do you know where I can access my e-mail for Nookipedia like the one Jake has? I have been busy trying to find it. -mlnintendo97 (talk)

Hey there, I'm afraid you or I don't have one, as cool as that would be. As far as I know, Jake is the only one who has a Nookipedia email. ~SuperHamster Talk 01:01, 19 November 2012 (EST)
Thanks for your help! -mlnintendo97 (talk) 17:13, 19 November 2012 (EST)
Yeah, sorry mlnintendo97. Nookipedia email accounts are only given to site directors for use with site-related business. --Jake 14:07, 22 November 2012 (EST)

Want to join Fans of Antonio?

Hey SuperHamster, want to join a fanclub on here that I created, it was made for my favorite villager, Antonio, it is located here under Category:Fans of Antonio. We have only two members so far, being myself and Beanoz4. It would be really helpful if you would join, because I am aiming for about 10 members. -mlnintendo97 (talk) 13:00, 22 November 2012 (EST)

Sure, count me in! :) ~SuperHamster Talk 23:53, 22 November 2012 (EST)
Great! The link to the fanpage is under Category:Fans of Antonio. I will be adding you to our admin. list! Be sure to also add [ [Category:Fans of Antonio] ] (Without spacing) to your userpage! -mlnintendo97 (talk) 11:08, 23 November 2012 (EST)

Hello!

Hello there! I'm new here, and I have a couple questions. One, I was wondering how you can color your username. (This is my first day, so I'm clueless about almost everything!) Two, I was wondering if you can check to see if I am editing well. So far I have edited Brewster and Olivia. I am probably going to edit more as I am finished talking (or typing). Just wanted to make sure I am doing things correctly! And third, I was wondering how to change my profile picture. Is that only a staff thing? ♠Thanks!♠ --SuperGecko 12:41, 25 November 2012 (EST)

Hey, welcome to Nookipedia! I like the name ;D Now on to your questions...
To change how your username appears (your 'signature'), click on the "My Preferences" tab up at the top of the page. There will be a section where you can change your signature in a textbox. Right now, here is what your basic signature code should look like (it may or may not already be in the textbox):
SuperGecko
To change the color, you can throw in a font tag, which would look like this:
<font color="#COLOR">SuperGecko</font>
Simply replace COLOR (but leave the hashtag) with the code of the color you want your signature to be (you can find color codes here).
Before you save your signature, make sure you check the checkbox below it that says "Treat signature as wikitext (without an automatic link)".
That's just the basic of formatting your signature; if you need any more help, feel free to ask.
As for your editing, everything looks good so far! Just make sure you don't use the word "you"; instead, refer to the player as just that, "the player." If you're looking for more things to edit, we still have a ton of material to cover regarding Animal Crossing: New Leaf - we're always looking for more content there.
Now as for your profile picture, looks like mlnintendo beat me to it and did a nice job explaining on his talk page.
Once again, welcome, and hope to see you around! Feel free to ask if you have more questions. ~SuperHamster Talk 23:46, 25 November 2012 (EST)

Thank you so much! And I see that i need to refer to "the player". I must have been typing fast. :) Thank you so much, again!--SuperGecko 16:07, 27 November 2012 (EST)

Thank you.

Thanks for the honored member status!--SpideyCanThrash 21:05, 4 December 2012 (EST)

No problem! You deserve it. ~SuperHamster Talk 23:00, 4 December 2012 (EST)

Animal Crossing City

Hey SuperHamster, I know this may be a ridiculous question to ask, but I recently joined Animal Crossing City, which was the old wiki and joined it to where I could add more info on pages and such. But what I was wondering was if it was against wiki policy to join the old wiki and still use this wiki. (If so, will I be losing my Patroller rank?) -mlnintendo97 21:31, 4 December 2012 (EST)

No, of course not :) I visit the Wikia alternative myself sometimes. The wikis are competing, each with their advantages, and most users choose one wiki over another (some users with great hostility, especially in the past). I wasn't here for the "split," so I'm not in on the drama. In the end, though, it really doesn't matter. More power to you if you contribute to both! ~SuperHamster Talk 23:00, 4 December 2012 (EST)
Good, I was worried I would have to quit one, because Taliseth (One of their admin.), from what he posted on my wall, it seem I had to quit one and stay on the other. -mlnintendo97 23:48, 4 December 2012 (EST)

Userbox Help

Hey SuperHamster, mlnintendo97 again, I need some help with my userboxes again, I seem to have a bug with it and I am trying to remove a space it created because of this. Can you help me out with it when you get the chance? - unsigned comment from mlnintendo97 (talkcontribs)

Fixed! All that was missing was a <br> tag. ~SuperHamster Talk 01:38, 15 December 2012 (EST)
Thanks! :) -mlnintendo97 21:21, 15 December 2012 (EST)

Undo Rollback?

Hey, I accidently rolled back an edit I did to K.K. Slider, can undo that for me? -mlnintendo97 15:51, 21 December 2012 (EST)

Done - for future reference, a rollback is just like any other edit, and you could have simply undone the edit yourself :) ~SuperHamster Talk 22:21, 21 December 2012 (EST)
Well, I was just unsure how to do it. :P -mlnintendo97 20:55, 23 December 2012 (EST)

Block an IP Address?

I have been patrolling several edits these past few days and this IP Address keeps making unnecessary quotes to villager pages where it mentions another villager saying for example, "Don't you think Sterling looks absolutely noble?". This IP Address has been doing this for several days straight. -mlnintendo97 14:05, 26 January 2013 (EST)

Done, I have blocked the IP for a week. I'm not sure if the quotes are accurate, but regardless, they're not representative of the characters, and I've considered their insistence on adding them as edit warring. Thanks! ~SuperHamster Talk 14:23, 26 January 2013 (EST)
It seems that vandal has returned and they are using this IP Address. -mlnintendo97 17:42, 11 February 2013 (EST)
Thanks! They have been issued a block. Great job on the reversions. ~SuperHamster Talk 00:00, 12 February 2013 (EST)
On a side note, this IP Address has been edit warring and making unnecessary comments on villager pages. -mlnintendo97 (Join Fans of Antonio today!) 19:36, 2 March 2013 (EST)
I took a look - in general, they've been adding constructive content. If any of their edits are problematic in the future, just let them know kindly on their talk page :) ~SuperHamster Talk 01:52, 5 March 2013 (EST)

Hey!

You're welcome! If you would please tell me what pages need to be written, I will gladly help! I have already done stuff on Wikirby, bt I'm still a beginner. ^^; Heh heh. Thanks. Janop1 21:12, 28 January 2013 (EST)

Sure thing! Thanks for asking! Right now, with the English release of New Leaf right around the corner, our priority is to add content on the game, as you already did with your new villager articles (there's still a lot left to go!).
Other than that, if you're looking for something different, there are plenty of stubs that need expanding, and our current events page lists some other ideas for things that need done around here.
Thanks again! Feel free to ask if you have any more questions. See you around. ~SuperHamster Talk 00:38, 29 January 2013 (EST)

Thanks! I'll get on that! ^^ Janop1 08:36, 29 January 2013 (EST)

Edit an image for me?

Hey SH, I know I have been asking a lot of you lately, but if you can make the black coloring that is outside the gray outline invisible for me on this image whenever you get the chance? I don't have the proper software to do it myself. Anytime will be fine with me, after all, this will be only appearing on my userpage. (Can I also use this as a signature here on the wiki later on as well?) -mlnintendo97 00:54, 6 February 2013 (EST)

Sure, I'd be happy to :) I can't do that right now (I'm about to head to school), but I'll do it as soon as I get a chance. As for your signature, images can be used for signatures as long as they don't disrupt line spacing (in other words, it has to fit within a line of text). ~SuperHamster Talk 09:48, 6 February 2013 (EST)
Great, thanks for doing it for me! As for the image as a signature, it fits perfectly with it almost going out of the line spacing. Thanks again! :D -mlnintendo97 17:25, 6 February 2013 (EST)
Done. For future reference, the program I use to create transparencies is IrfanView. It's a very simple program, but it can do a lot of nifty things. As for fitting it in your signature, it does take up multiple lines - a line of text is roughly 12 pixels, so it shouldn't be more than that. A resize would take care of that, though. ~SuperHamster Talk 21:04, 6 February 2013 (EST)

Signature Image Help

I have been working on my image for my signature, which is the same image which I had you help me out with before, just smaller and at 12px as you suggested, and was wondering how do you add linking to pages onto it. Also, while I'm at it, is there any limit to how much text you can have to a signature and can I move image pages? (I meant to have a space between the dash and "Mlnintendo97") -mlnintendo97 (Join Fans of Antonio today!) 19:47, 28 February 2013 (EST)

To add a link to an image, use the following code and replace 'LOCATION' with the page name:
As for a limit, yep, there is a character limit you'll eventually run into when writing your signature in the box - it'll stop letting you type when you hit it.
And as for moving images, only administrators and above can do so. In the future, you can simply request one of us on our talk pages. I've gone ahead and moved it for you =) ~SuperHamster Talk 23:41, 28 February 2013 (EST)
Thanks for the help! As you clearly can tell, I pretty much know how to work most of the wikitext coding, but I haven't really experimented much with images. Thanks for help once again! -mlnintendo97 (Join Fans of Antonio today!) 18:56, 1 March 2013 (EST)
Hey Kevin, I have been working out my Signature to include an image into it, I'm currently and was wondering if it looks fit to be a final signature for me. -File:Nookipedia Signature Pic - Mlnintendo97.png Talk (Join Fans of Antonio today!) 19:57, 18 March 2013 (EDT)
Looks great! I like it. Not that it's against the rules or anything, but I'd personally remove the link to the Antonio fanpage - it reads like an advertisement that will be seen again and again by the same users, when the main purpose of a signature is to simply identify you. Not a huge deal though - in the end, it's totally up to you. ~SuperHamster Talk 23:59, 18 March 2013 (EDT)
I'll be sure to fix it as soon as I'm done. Thanks for your input as I was unsure if the image was the proper size or not. -mlnintendo97 (Join Fans of Antonio today!) 22:50, 19 March 2013 (EDT)

Help with my Userpage

Hey. I need help with my userpage. I don't want it to be all crammed up please help me. Pokebub 23:41, 2 April 2013 (EDT)

Sure - take a look at this edit I made. Userboxes are funky in the way they align on pages. To make sure page sections don't overlap like they did before, you can use the Clear template, which will make sure that each section is placed below the previous one, instead of jamming them all together. If you need anything else, just holler :) ~SuperHamster Talk 23:49, 2 April 2013 (EDT)

Thanks. Pokebub 23:51, 2 April 2013 (EDT)

Wiki Cryptids

Hey. What is a Wiki Cryptid? I saw the userbox for it ,but what is it. Pokebub 16:23, 3 April 2013 (EDT)

A while ago, users could characterize themselves as certain "WikiFauna". For example, a WikiFairy would be someone who beautifies the wiki, and the WikiCrptid would be someone who acts mysteriously. These pretty much died out though. ~SuperHamster Talk 19:36, 4 April 2013 (EDT)

Oh ok. So a wiki cryptid is someone who acts mysteriously in a wiki. Does this count for forum websites? Pokebub 20:41, 4 April 2013 (EDT)

Eh, not really, since it's separate from the wiki. Though as I said, no one really uses them anymore on Nookipedia. ~SuperHamster Talk 23:15, 4 April 2013 (EDT)
Ok Pokebub 23:31, 4 April 2013 (EDT)

NES Game Templates and 3DS Friend Codes

I've been working on NES Games here on Nookipedia and I noticed that a lot of the NES Games are missing their NES Game Template so I added them and it took me almost an hour. By the way do you have a 3DS? If you do, do you want my friend code? Pokebub 20:29, 3 April 2013 (EDT)

Nice work ;) I do, I'll get you the code ASAP. ~SuperHamster Talk 19:36, 4 April 2013 (EDT)

Ok Pokebub 20:38, 4 April 2013 (EDT)

So are you gonna give it to me? Pokebub 22:05, 5 April 2013 (EDT)

Totaka's Song

Hey SuperHamster. I made an article based on Totaka's Song. Can you put it in the song template? See it's not in it. Template:PrCo Pokebub 21:33, 4 April 2013 (EDT)

To add anything to a template, you can simply edit it yourself, assuming it isn't protected. In this case, you'd edit the template at Template:PrCo. I've gone ahead and added it in. ~SuperHamster Talk 23:30, 4 April 2013 (EDT)
Thanks and ok Pokebub 23:33, 4 April 2013 (EDT)

NOTICE

I will soon open a shop in my userpage. To buy stuff I will Give you a random Animal Crossing question and you earn 100 coins if you do it right. Pokebub 22:13, 11 April 2013 (EDT)

Wiki News

Hey Kevin, I was wondering if as a Patroller, I have proper permissions to edit the Wiki News template. I was asking this as I noticed we are WAY overdue to update it. I was thinking of something like promoting people to edit pages with missing Animal Crossing: New Leaf info. -mlnintendo97 21:07, 15 April 2013 (EDT)

Sure! You can definitely update the news whenever needed, though traditionally, the wiki news basically covers user promotions and major changes, and there haven't been any for a few months. Regarding promoting editing, I've actually been thinking of bigger ways to drive up activity for the past few weeks - you've inspired me to finally make a thread on the forums to talk about it. We can discuss plans there :) Thanks! ~SuperHamster Talk 21:50, 15 April 2013 (EDT)

Inactive Patrollers

Hey SH, I lately have been concerned about our Staff, with how much inactivity there is, and I noticed just today while going through it at about 1/4 have nor been active since 2010 and 2011. Do you think there might be a possibility that those staff members might be removed? -mlnintendo97 22:23, 16 April 2013 (EDT)

Fair point - I'll compile a list as soon as I have time of staff to be demoted. Thanks, ~SuperHamster Talk 23:38, 16 April 2013 (EDT)
Yeah, I'm really sorry for my inactiveness lately. I've been busy with soccer, musical, honors choir, band, tutors, voice lessons, and homework. Also, I've been a depressed and suicidal mess lately, so I really apologize for my inactiveness and am gonna try to pick it up a bit. --XXSuperXXNintendoXx 22:42, 23 April 2013 (EDT)
That's totally understandable! No reason to apologize, the wiki should in no way be a priority: real life comes first. Editing should just be a fun hobby to do when you have time ;) When talking about demoting inactive members, we're talking about users who haven't been seen since 2 years ago.
Hope everything clears up - if you ever need to talk, feel free to talk to me (in private on Skype if you wish), or mlnintendo97, who left some great advice on your talk page I strongly recommend you consider. Hang in there - Cheers, ~SuperHamster Talk 01:17, 24 April 2013 (EDT)

Help Patrol Edits

Hey, whenever you get the chance, can you help me patrol the wiki as Miku51, the only other active patroller who marks edits as patrolled, will be leaving us in a few days. -mlnintendo97 20:49, 21 April 2013 (EDT)

Sounds good, I'll be happy to help =) Thanks for the patrolling so far. I'll see about contacted Jake about implementing a new user group for users who aren't staff, but whose edits can definitely be auto-patrolled, to ease the load on us. ~SuperHamster Talk 01:09, 22 April 2013 (EDT)

Sky - Hiatus

Hey Kevin, I was wondering if you knew the reason behind Sky's hiatus. He has been on hiatus since before I became a Patroller. -mlnintendo97 19:28, 30 April 2013 (EDT)

I don't recall any particular reasoning, other than the need for a well-deserved break. Hopefully Sky will be back soon for New Leaf =) ~SuperHamster Talk 23:26, 30 April 2013 (EDT)

Thanks!

Hi Kevin! Thanks for the welcome! Some NA players have recently received New Leaf early to give their thoughts on the game before it's released (I'm not one of those people, unfortunately :p), so I've been scouring the web and updating some information, such as some of the translated names. I hope to be of help!

Cevan 15:54, 7 May 2013 (EDT)

Awesome, thanks so much! Any updates on New Leaf are great. We'll hopefully be as up to date as we can be before the game even releases. ~SuperHamster Talk 15:56, 7 May 2013 (EDT)

Wiki glitches

Yesterday, Nookipedia wasn't working, so it took me to the "404 Page Not Found" page. Today Nookipedia is taking longer time than usual to load pages. Just telling u. Pokebub

Hey there - thanks for the heads up on the slowness. When the site came back up earlier today, I did clear the server's cache, which may have been a cause for slowness as the cache was being rebuilt. Nookipedia seems to be as fast as usual for me now though, so hopefully speeds should be back to normal for you soon, if not now. Cheers, ~SuperHamster Talk 00:54, 11 May 2013 (EDT)

Username Change?

Hey, there. I've been a member on this site for a week or so, and i've made a couple of edits. I have been using this site for years, though.

I'm not even entirely sure i'm supposed to be doing this here, so i'm sorry if i do something wrong, but you ARE staff here, right? I was wondering if there was anyway to change my username on here, and i thought that an important member here could do that, being as i can't find anywhere where i can change it myself.

I'm not even sure why i put in the username i have now. I've stopped using that username for years. The only thing i can think of happening is me creating an account years ago and never using it or something. - unsigned comment from K-Luigi (talkcontribs)

Glad to hear you're a long time reader! =) And yep, I am a staff member here. Only Bureaucrats and Directors are able to rename users. User re-naming is rare, though, so there's no formal request process - users just ask the staff, so you came to the right place. What would you like your account re-named to? ~SuperHamster Talk 21:59, 23 May 2013 (EDT)

I would like my account to be renamed from 'K-Luigi' to 'Kreuniclus'.

Done - also, please remember to sign your talk page posts with four tildes (~~~~) in the future =) ~SuperHamster Talk 01:03, 25 May 2013 (EDT)

Naming

Hi Super Hamster. I recently uploaded an image and i want to know if it's spelled: Arora or Aroura. Reply on my talk page. Pokebub 22:38, 23 May 2013 (EDT)

K, thx. Pokebub 23:39, 23 May 2013 (EDT)

Hello.

Hello,

If you remember me, I was an editor here way back in 2012. I became inactive for a while due to some problems, but now I decided to come back and help you guys in this wiki. Like last time, I would concentrate mostly on images. If you need any help in any page, then feel free to inform me :).

Thank you, Wolfgang 11:40, 11 June 2013 (EDT)

Hey Wolfgang, I remember you indeed - hope everything got sorted out, and it's great to have you back! Right now, the main focus is just expanding coverage of New Leaf content, so have at it. I'm sure you'll find plenty to do around here :) Thanks! ~SuperHamster Talk 11:43, 11 June 2013 (EDT)

Foreign Names

Hey, I just created a foreignname template that is borrowed from Pikipedia. Over at Metroid Wiki and Super Mario Wiki, I've been adding foreign names to a lot of the articles. I am experienced in adding foreign names. I just wanted to get your OK on the project. --Wookiee123 02:42, 15 June 2013 (EDT)

Hey Wookiee - I assume those names are from the various language translations of New Leaf? If so, that's a great idea - go for it! Thanks, ~SuperHamster Talk 10:42, 15 June 2013 (EDT)
Yeah, the foreign names include the translations of the names of the villagers as well as collectible fish, bugs, items, etc. Thanks! --Wookiee123 03:22, 16 June 2013 (EDT)

Nookipedia Chat

Hi SH, I wanted to know if you could allow me to create a Nookipedia Xat Chat? Reply.

 • Xat chat website: [1]

Pokebub 21:02, 16 June 2013 (EDT)

Hrm...you could, but it would not be in any way official for the time being, due to a lack of staff member participation and moderation (for now). If you and some other editors want to participate in a xat room to discuss Animal Crossing, though, you're more than welcome to :)
Right now, if we were to create an official chat group, it would most likely be on Skype, due to its popularity and simplicity. In the time being, however, our forums serve that purpose well, due to a small and concentrated group of editors :) ~SuperHamster Talk 23:00, 16 June 2013 (EDT)

New villager personalities

Hey, I need a source for the new villager personalities. Prima guide doesn't have it, but that book thinks that Naomi is Yoko and Queenie is an octopus... Super (duh...)AlpacaDoggie Mask.gif 01:26, 17 June 2013 (EDT)

Uggh. Or maybe Prima knows more than we think...Queenie might be an octopus alien in disguise...
Anyway, I haven't seen any complete list/source of all the personality information. So far for articles I've created, I've either googled around to see if I could find anything (sometimes on forums or other game guides); otherwise, I've simply set the personality to unknown for now. ~SuperHamster Talk 01:37, 17 June 2013 (EDT)

Animal Crossing Wikia

Hello,

I'm part of few wikis in Wikia and noticed that Animal Crossing Wiki over there is growing and many users are cleaning it up. Why don't yuo guys suggest them a merge with providing them with whatever they need? Having two Animal Crossing Wikis is not cool, plus that wikia is the one all users directly get to due google search. Is there anything you'll do about it?

Thank you, Wolfgang 03:21, 18 June 2013 (EDT)

Funny you mention that - time for a history lesson :)
A few years ago, before I was here, Wikia started to make changes that angered its users. They implemented and forced new layout changes that many argue made Wikia less user-friendly. Among that were complaints about the many ads, and Wikia's rigorous for-profit model that took control away from the Wikias themselves. And so, many users from the Animal Crossing Wikia decided to leave and create their own independent wiki. The Animal Crossing Wikia was merged into Jake's small Nookipedia, and from there, the wikis forked off in their own direction.
And so started NIWA, the Nintendo Independent Wiki Alliance. It's an alliance of Nintendo wikis, including Nookipedia, who are independent in control. Basically, the argument is that being hosted on Wikia, or any other for-profit wiki farm, isn't in the best interest of the readers. By being independent, we can control our own wiki, and do whats best for our readers, and not for profit. When we want a layout change, we can discuss it on our forums, rather than have Wikia control that themselves. Basically, a merge is out of the question because of this.
In the end, the fact that two strong Animal Crossing Wikis exist is cool, as I see it. It gives the readers a choice. Each one has its advantages. Wikia has the strong and powerful userbase, while we have the advantages of being independent. Both sides have great editors. While they potentially do get more views, we are also currently getting a strong 100,000 views per day. Wikia tends to come in first on Google searches, but we often are close second or third. Both wikis also create competition for each other - each wiki wants to be on top, so both wikis try their best to be the best they can be.
So yep. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask :) ~SuperHamster Talk 08:01, 18 June 2013 (EDT)

Spoiler template

It is broke and needs fixing. I have no idea what the problem is so I am asking you. Please SH, you're our only hope. Super (duh...)AlpacaDoggie Mask.gif 19:11, 18 June 2013 (EDT)

Huh. Looks like the template is working fine, except that it breaks whenever it contains an external link...no idea why, though. SuperHamster ain't so Super. I guess we'll just have to experiment around with it. ~SuperHamster Talk 21:29, 18 June 2013 (EDT)

Merging contributions and apologies

Firstly, I want to apologize for creating a new page when there was already a page for the subject. I'm used to a naming convention on wikis where the title would be "Fortune Cookie". I should've checked around the pages to make sure I had things right, I also should've done a more thorough look for the page.

Secondly, I was wondering if we could merge the contributions from the page I created into the already existing page. While, of course this includes some personal bias seeing as I did create the page, but I was thinking we could take the content from the redirect page and merge it with the content already on the page. Just an idea.

Again, I apologize for my mistake in the page creation.

Edit: I also want to say, since I saw the above section, that I am an editor on Wikia and before the move I edited the Wikia AC wiki a couple of times, and I have to say that the NIWA one is far better and professional. The Wikia one includes some of the newer features and, to say the least, they're unpleasant. – Jazzi (talk) 10:29, 21 June 2013 (EDT)

Hey, no need to apologize! It's just a quick fix :) It's a wiki, after all. Nothing wrong with making more content. I only did a quick glance at what you wrote, so if you want to go ahead and add to or replace anything in the current article, go for it. Here's the link to your revision. And that's nice to hear; both wikis have their strengths, but we try. Cheers, ~SuperHamster Talk 10:32, 21 June 2013 (EDT)
I tend to worry about overstepping boundaries when editing a new wiki. I have rollback (I think it's like patroller, I really don't know; it lets the user undo multiple revisions by a single user so I really don't know if it's similar or not) rights on Zeldapedia and bureaucrat/sysop rights on Pokémon Wiki so I'm well standing in the community. So when I come to a new wiki I'm always worried that I might be editing like I do on a wiki where I'm known in the community when I don't know the community. I just don't want to come across as a full-of-themselves new editor, even though sometimes I am like that! – Jazzi (talk) 10:44, 21 June 2013 (EDT)
Totally understandable! I feel the same way when I go to a new wiki. Luckily we're pretty light-hearted here :) Do whatever you think is best. You're clearly experienced, so there's nothing to worry about. Nice thing about a wiki is that anything can be fixed ;) If you ever have any questions though, don't hesitate to ask! I'm sure you'll feel fitted in soon enough. I see you've joined our forums a long while back; it's a nice place to get to know other members, too. ~SuperHamster Talk 10:49, 21 June 2013 (EDT)
I have a question on number standards. I was taught that unless the number is below 100, it should be written out. This varies with each person so I was wondering what the standard was here? – Jazzi (talk) 11:07, 21 June 2013 (EDT)
Hrm...that's a toughy! I don't think we actually have an explicit rule written out anywhere about that. However, when a rule is in question, we usually default to Wikipedia's standards. In infoboxes and tables, numbers should always be written in numerical form. Otherwise, in the article prose, the number should be written out if it's >100 (unless it's something simple, such as "one million"). From 10 - 100, it's up to the writer, as far as I'm aware. If it's <10, it should be written out. And, like everything else in this world, there may always be exceptions (if anyone else reading this knows otherwise, feel free to call me out on it). ~SuperHamster Talk 11:15, 21 June 2013 (EDT)

Donations?

Hey, Superhamster. Is there any way to donate to the wiki? I don't have much real world money, but I do happen to have ~$15 worth of Bitcoin. If the wiki doesn't have a donation page, why not add one? I imagine some extra income could probably help the wiki out.

Thanks for the generous thought, Will! However, according to Jake, who keeps our servers running beautifully, the wiki is currently doing well in regards to funding. Our revenue from advertising is more than enough to keep the site up, especially with the higher traffic thanks to the release of New Leaf. If you have any more questions regarding the servers, though, feel free to ask Jake. Again, thanks for the thought! ~SuperHamster Talk 18:02, 21 June 2013 (EDT)

Name

Yep, it is. RCT1 and RCT2 ftw. I don't like RCT3 because it lacks the awesomeness (and micromanagement) of RCT1/2. :-) Rctgamer3 08:21, 23 June 2013 (EDT)

Ai! RCT3 has to be one of my favorite games. I suppose we'll just have to accept our differences ;) ~SuperHamster Talk 10:11, 23 June 2013 (EDT)

Userboxes

When I had first created my userpage I had made my own userboxes, I was wondering if I could possible alter the templates on Nookipedia:Userboxes so that the colors were more neutral and less clashing? Examples of my work with userboxes can be found on my userpage here and on my userpage at Zeldapedia. – Jazzi (talk) 15:39, 26 June 2013 (EDT)

Go for it, I'm sure no one would mind. Some of our userboxes could definitely use some work. ~SuperHamster Talk 15:42, 26 June 2013 (EDT)

Templates

I created three new templates (Clr, Clrl, and Clrr) which does the same thing as <br clear="all/left/right" />. I made them because I personally feel it makes more sense to use the templates in place of using the actual code. If you feel they aren't needed feel free to delete them. – Jazzi (talk) 08:23, 27 June 2013 (EDT)

Looks good! :) Nice job. ~SuperHamster Talk 08:24, 27 June 2013 (EDT)

Jazzi Section

I figured since I have a lot of upcoming questions I'll make a little section for them instead of making 50 headers.

I was wondering if the template Antarctican could be deleted as the user who created it, SuperAlpaca, created it on the Wikia Animal Crossing wiki, where the template was created from Zeldapedia. The userbox originated as a joke. As you will notice no other wiki, or if there is one, has a "This user is Antarctican." userbox, because I'm fairly certain no one can live in Antarctica to procreate and then be Antarctican. You'll also notice from viewing SuperAlpaca's userpage on Zeldapedia that he himself does not use the userbox. And lastly, you'll notice that nobody on Nookipedia uses the template either. So it doesn't really make sense to keep it, since no one here would understand the joke. I personally don't understand the joke because it happened before my time as an editor. So... yeah. – Jazzi (talk) 10:23, 27 June 2013 (EDT)

I would also like to request the permission to edit the userpages that user User home, User wish, and User country to switch it over to code since the colors kind of clash with the flags and there would be a lot of templates to create a counterpart. Alternatively, I drafted up how a few would look in my sandbox were we to change those templates into User Home US or something similar. – Jazzi (talk) 10:27, 27 June 2013 (EDT)

Hrm...I kind of like the Anterctican userbox. I laughed the first time I saw it. (Or maybe I just have an immature sense of humor...) If you really want it deleted, we could, but I don't think it's a big deal. You never know ;) Antarctic expeditions are getting more popular.
As for those userpages, I wouldn't individually substitute each userbox and adjust the colors - that would be up to each user to do. If you go ahead and create those templates, though (User Home US, User Wish US, etc.), updating users' userpages with the new userbox templates should be fine, to keep everything standardized. ~SuperHamster Talk 13:53, 27 June 2013 (EDT)
I'll create the templates in place then. There's no problem with the userbox being here, it just seems weird, it not being used. – Jazzi (talk) 13:58, 27 June 2013 (EDT)
Sounds good! Great job with the userboxes so far - they've been a mess for quite a while before you came. ~SuperHamster Talk 14:00, 27 June 2013 (EDT)

NL Villager Artwork

Hi SH, great work on managing the wiki! All the new templates and information looks great. I was just wondering where you're getting the NL Villager Artwork from because I'd love to help out with it if I could! Leem01 02:49, 11 July 2013 (EDT)

Hey Leem - thanks for the kind words! I've come across a Nintendo image repository wiki called PidgiWiki (see their New Leaf category) - it's a small but great site that focuses on cataloging official Nintendo images and artwork, and will hopefully have the potential to join NIWA down the road. The editors there have access to various Nintendo press libraries, and were able to find New Leaf villager images for me. They found whatever they could, though unfortunately a good few villagers are still missing, most of them being the villagers new to New Leaf (which is what we need most, ironically). Right now, I've uploaded the majority of pictures they could find to Nookipedia. I'll finish the last dozen or so tonight. What's left to do now is add all those villager images to our articles/lists. Wookiee has already got a great start on that, though there's plenty left to go (eeurrghh).
