The e-Reader is a device made by Nintendo. When plugged into a Game Boy Advance, it can scan cards, which have specially encoded data printed on them, to perform various functions, such as play a game or interact with another game.
Use in Animal Crossing
When the e-Reader and Game Boy Advance are connected to a Nintendo GameCube playing Animal Crossing, cards from the Animal Crossing-e series can be used to affect gameplay, including unlocking rare NES games. This does not work in the P.A.L version.
Cards
There are 4 different card sets.
In the japanese version of Animal Crossing, the player could scan 'Character Cards' that would make the designated move into the player's town.
The player could scan two NES cards that would give he/she the game shown on the card.
The player could scan K.K cards that would give he/she the music.
The promotional card that comes with the e-reader would give the player a surprise!
