Katsuya Eguchi (江口 勝也, Eguchi Katsuya) is a video game designer and director at Nintendo EAD. Along with the Animal Crossing series, Eguchi has created other video games and media. He was born in 1965 in Tokyo, Japan and grew up in the Chiba Prefecture.
Beginning work at Nintendo in 1986, Eguchi first worked as a designer on Super Mario Bros. 3, and later directed his first game, Star Fox for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, in 1993. He has also been involved with the creation of Super Mario World, Star Fox 2, Wave Race 64, Yoshi's Story, Wii Sports, Wii Play, and Star Fox Command. He is the producer of Animal Crossing: City Folk, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, and the Wii gaming series, most recently Nintendo Land. Eguchi also was a hardware producer for the Wii U.
