Rod is a jock, mouse villager in the Animal Crossing series, debuting in Doubutsu no Mori e+ as one of the six villagers packaged with the game via e-Reader cards, alongside Walker, Maggie, Angus, Merry, and Willow. His name comes from "rodent," the biological order in which mice fall. Rod's initial phrase, "ace," means "to succeed easily" and "highest quality," relating to the competitive nature of jock villagers. It was also Ace's catchphrase.
Characteristics
Appearance
Rod is a purple mouse with blond hair and a blue and white striped bandana on his head. The inside of his ears are a bubblegum pink.
Personality
Below is a brief description of the jock personality. For more information, click here.
Rod has a jock personality, which means he will have a keen interest in sport and fitness, making him appear competitive and in some cases rude when talking to other villagers, usually criticizing their fitness regime. He will appear slow-witted and absent-minded when in deep, meaningful discussions, leaving him to make odd remarks or leaving him confused and upset. He gets along well with peppy villagers, but is confused about the lifestyle of lazy villagers, which conflicts with his jock personality. He may offend and upset snooty and cranky villagers by questioning their physical fitness and age, but he will get along with normal villagers, angering them only on rare occasions.

House
In Doubutsu no Mori e+, Rod's house has the same layout as Ricky's, except Rod uses the Palace Tile and the Wood Paneling as his carpet and wallpaper.
In Animal Crossing: Wild World and Animal Crossing: City Folk, Rod's house contains mainly Ranch Series furniture. His wallpaper and carpet are now the Sea View and Old Flooring respectively. If Rod has a stereo in his house, it will play "K.K. March."
