Nintendo Co., Ltd. (任天堂株式会社 Nintendō Kabushiki gaisha?) is a Japanese video game hardware manufacturer and software publisher. They are the largest video game making company, followed by Sony. They have a countless number of series, such as the Super Mario, Legend of Zelda, Animal Crossing, and Metroid series. They previously made hanafuda cards before they came into the video game industry, and are now one of the largest video game companies there are. Since they're the developers of the Animal Crossing series, some of their products, like the NES have made it into Animal Crossing gameplay. They also have made the SNES, Nintendo 64, GameCube, Wii, Gameboy, Game Boy Color, Gameboy Advance, and Nintendo DS.

Gaming systems

Nintendo has created many gaming systems, most of which are listed below:

Consoles

Portables

Club Nintendo

Main article: Club Nintendo

Club Nintendo is a Nintendo reward system, where users input codes from major Nintendo games and consoles to receive Coins (or Stars in Europe). Coins may also be earned by completing surveys. These Coins may then be traded for a variety of prizes, including Animal Crossing-related merchandise. The service was discontinued on June 30, 2015, and was replaced with My Nintendo, which is functionally the same, but with new features added. New rewards were added including Digital Discounts and Miitomo clothes, which can be purchased with Platinum Coins, rewarded by completing missions, like completing tasks in Miitomo or signing into other Nintendo services like Miiverse weekly. The service is connected to the user's Nintendo Network account, so purchases are automatically recorded in the service and reward the user with Gold coins, which function almost the same as Club Nintendo, the only difference being that purchases are for Digital Game downloads only.
