Summary
Ice Climber was originally an arcade game created by Nintendo and released in 1985. The game was later released on the NES. It was one of 19 collectible NES games featured in Doubutsu no Mori, Doubutsu no Mori+, Animal Crossing, and Doubutsu no Mori e+. The only way to obtain it (Without the use of a Cheating device) is via the series 4 Animal Crossing-e reader cards. It is one of the "Forbidden Four" NES games, along with The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Bros., and Mario Bros..
Gameplay
Ice Climber involves two characters Popo and Nana. Each character sports a wooden mallet which they use to carve their way through ice, and fight enemies to get to the top of a mountain. Each mountain consists of eight ice covered layers, plus a bonus level. The layers of ice include different types of ice to maneuver including indestructible and slippery ice. Asides from ice there are also floating platforms resembling clouds. The bonus level occurs at the top of the mountain where harder jumps are presented, succeeding in said jumps rewards vegetables used to get more points, and extra lives.
