Needed Art Pages

We need pages for the two new paintings from Animal Crossing: New Leaf They are Wild Painting and Good Painting also are we going to make a sculptures category to host the new art group?

FINALLY... I added a chart on how to tell the fakes in Animal Crossing: New Leaf Here if you guys want to make the headers of it yellow like the other charts go right ahead!

Thanks!

Grekox 11:59, 18 June 2013 (EDT)

I can create those pages later tonight when I get the chance, unless someone gets to them before me - a sculpture category sounds good, too.
And nice work! I can format that later, too. Thanks for the heads up, ~SuperHamster Talk 13:13, 18 June 2013 (EDT)

Personality "more" template

Since the same blurb appears on every villager page, I figured why not make it a template? Here you can see it in action. Good idea? Bad idea? — imjon (talk) 14:43, 7 July 2013 (EDT)

I always felt something needed to be done about it, and am glad something is finally in use. Super (duh...)AlpacaDoggie Mask.gif 16:03, 7 July 2013 (EDT)

Public Works Project Category

Me and SuperHamster we're talking about how people are gonna be more likely to look for a public works project like illuminated heart under a public works category then locations so now if we could put any things that are public works projects under the category that would be great! Grekox 12:40, 13 July 2013 (EDT)

Edit: Also if you could use this new template that adds a price and size section to the building infobox! Grekox 13:11, 13 July 2013 (EDT)

FlashMP3 extension

Not sure of a better place to bring this up, but could the FlashMP3 extension be installed? Someone's already used it on some of the song pages, and the mp3 files are sitting waiting to be enjoyed. — imjon (talk) 14:49, 18 July 2013 (EDT)

We did have some sort of mp3 extension at some point, but it has since been broken as far as I know, which is why we've started migrating to embedding Youtube music videos instead...if this extension will work, though, that'd be great! Nookipédia

I think this Wiki is great. It is terrific ! It could be even better if it could be made multilingual like Wikipedia is. I'm proposing we start with adding French version of Nookipedia with links between corresponding articles - just like in Wikipedia. --Ocre 01:51, 28 August 2013 (EDT)

It's a great idea - I don't think it would be feasible, though. I'm not 100% sure, but I believe the subject has been brought up in the past. One of the biggest problems would be the lack of editors. We'd need a pretty large team of devoted French speakers to translate articles. More importantly, we'd also need active French-speaking staff members to help monitor a French wiki. English Nookipedia is currently doing great in terms of activity, but even we are quite a bit away from completely covering New Leaf. Beyond that, in periods of low activity, activity is pretty dang low - and would be even more so on alternative language wikis. That's my two-cents, though. It would be interesting to see what would happen if we started a French or Spanish wiki. ~SuperHamster Talk 14:02, 28 August 2013 (EDT)
I'm not against it either. I would be more lenient on doing a Spanish Nookipedia since I know the Spanish names for several articles. I am somewhat experienced with the Spanish language. Let me know what you guys think. --Wookiee123 15:56, 28 August 2013 (EDT)
I'm from Montréal, Québec. French is my first language. I have about 10 000 visits on my site per months right now. It sure isn't what Nookipedia is receiving, but some of that traffic could be funelled into a Nookipédia (in French). I was looking at having an encyclopedia of some sort as such are lacking right now in French. I think both sites could feed into one another...--Ocre (talk) 18:27, 28 August 2013 (EDT)
I'm not against this idea either, and like Wookie123, I have some experience with Spanish. Before we create any additional wikis though, we need to ensure that there will be users to support it. Another site I run, Wikisimpsons, has several subwikis in other languages and none of them are particularly active. If we are to create Spanish or French versions of Nookipedia, we will need the support of a decent number of users (5-10 ideally) who are comfortable with that language and willing to dedicate time to start the project. It will also require some work from our English contributors to set up the interlanguage links between articles. If you can come up with the user support for either a Spanish or French Nookipedia, I'd happily set aside some time to get the site up and running. --Jake 21:04, 28 August 2013 (EDT)
I get that you want to be sure of a base number of users for each Wiki before putting work behind an interlingual wiki but finding users beforehand might be hard enough. "Build it and they will come" as goes the expression. But I totally understand you and I posted a blog post about recruiting future users of a French Nookipédia here : www.nouvelleorange.com --Ocre (talk) 00:36, August 29, 2013 (EDT)
Out of concern for the number of contributors on these wikis, I would be able to contribute without being able to speak these languages completely or fluently. For example, I can create Lists of villagers for each game on each wiki and fill in infoboxes for several of the character articles. I would not be able to put the main content in most of the articles, however. You guys can count me in as a contributor on each wiki. --Wookiee123 (talk) 01:14, August 29, 2013 (EDT)

Too bad then :( I had 3 regulars that were interested. Especially when you consider that all the work concerning finding and writing the French names of the characters (that are in New Leaf) is mostly done. Moreover I do not think these opportunities present itself that often.--Ocre (talk) 10:39, October 2, 2013 (EDT)
You can always write some articles in French and put them in a usersubpage so when progress does occur, you already have some pages to jumpstart it. Mario Sigpic.png MarioTalk to-a me! 14:24, October 4, 2013 (EDT)
Good idea. But if I do spend time working on it, I don't want it to be in vain... Music pages

By the time of this writing, all the pages pertaining to in-game music use an embedded Youtube link. I think it's a better idea if we upload OGG files instead. Not only does it lower loading time of the page, it also looks cleaner since you can put these files in the music infobox. That requires some work, obviously, but anyone can obtain OGG files by putting the music in Audacity (a free, open source music editor) and then exporting it as OGG. I wonder who else thinks that using OGG files instead of embedded Youtube videos is a good idea. Mario Sigpic.png MarioPlus, the .mp3 format is broken here, which only reinforces my point. Can I have some mushrooms now? 19:41, September 19, 2013 (EDT)

Here, I uploaded OGG files and replaced the embedded videos in 1 A.M., Agent K.K., Bubblegum K.K., Aloha K.K., and some others. How does it look? Mario Sigpic.png MarioTalk to-a me! 21:01, September 19, 2013 (EDT)

Template:JapanEvent and Template:KoreaEvent

If any of you are reading this... First off hello. Two, I created two new templates for use with events that are version exclusive to Japan or Korea so if you create articles one of them could you please place this at the top of the page. Thanks, Grekox (talk) 13:15, October 24, 2013 (EDT)

I've read this, and I'm wondering if we do this already to events that are exclusive to the USA and Europe. If not, we have to create templates related to these for consistency. Mario Sigpic.png MarioTalk to-a me! 14:37, October 24, 2013 (EDT)

Userboxes

I was updating my Userpage and found a page in the wiki with userboxes and I used some, but I don't know how to make the userboxes where the code has a l in it is it a lowercase L or something I don't know of? Help please.--zoomer364 16:22, May 10, 2014 (EDT)

Hi Zoomer - that is the vertical bar character, also called a pipe. You should be able to find it about the enter key on most keyboards. ~SuperHamster Talk 16:35, May 10, 2014 (EDT)
Thanks, now I would like a code for a gardener userbox please.--zoomer364 19:02, May 10, 2014 (EDT)

Game Boy

I'm wondering why the Game Boy page exists! I propose we delete it. It has absolutely nothing to do with the Animal Crossing series, neither the Game Boy Advance! [That's a different discussion.....] Please comment your opinions.

Flashpoint

Yeah i don't think we need it. I also think we don't need the SNES page either. As for the GBA, Animal Island is on it so it is AC related. Also, please remember to sign your comments. -- Pokebub (talk) 03:32, June 25, 2014 (EDT)
I propose that we create a soft redirect template so that we can simply link the Game Boy and SNES pages to Wikipedia, Nintendo Wiki, etc. Red Snapper 11:56, June 25, 2014 (EDT)
Sounds good to me, though instead of a soft redirect, I'd link directly to NWiki / Wikipedia. Directing to NWiki is the priority, but if an article is not available there, then we can do Wikipedia. ~SuperHamster Talk 16:07, June 25, 2014 (EDT)
The pages are pretty useless, so I won't miss them. Mario Signature.png 21:51, June 25, 2014 (EDT)

Thanks. I just tried doing it but it wouldn't work. Can you try it? I tried typing it in but it wouldn't work. Don't use Nintendo Wiki's page, it's pretty low quality...... Use MarioWiki's , it's really good. Thanks. Flashpoint (talk) 22:33, June 25, 2014 (EDT)

I redirected it to Wikipedia since it's a better source for general information than MarioWiki (which contains information usually relevant only to the you-know-what series). Mario Signature.png 22:44, June 25, 2014 (EDT)

It's all right, although a lot of notice templates don't use artwork from Animal Crossing: New Leaf. Mario Signature.png 22:18, June 25, 2014 (EDT)

I prefer her artwork from city folk because i like the dress she wears in the older games.SuperCofee ᴛᴀʟᴋ ᴛᴏ ᴍᴇ ᴘʟᴇᴀsᴇ (talk) 13:37, May 9, 2015 (EDT)

It's not really a matter of personal preferences though. If it's the latest artwork, we use it, generally. Mario Signature.png 15:29, May 9, 2015 (EDT)

Resource page

I'm interested in creating a page listing links to resources that editors can use to find information on all sorts of AC subjects. What is the best place/way to do this? Should I just update the External Animal Crossing websites page? --sunmarsh (talk) 17:37, August 3, 2014 (EDT)

Yeah, that would make the most sense in my opinion. --XXSuperXXNintendoXx (talk) 17:44, August 3, 2014 (EDT)
Sounds good to me! Thanks sunmarsh. We also have articles for some of the bigger Animal Crossing sites in Category:Websites, if there's any use in updating or adding new articles to it. ~SuperHamster Talk 17:46, August 3, 2014 (EDT)
I'll revamp the external websites page then. Also thanks for noting the Website category, I hadn't seen it until now. --sunmarsh (talk) 17:57, August 3, 2014 (EDT)

Item capitalization policy

A few weeks ago we rebooted Project Furniture and there was some discussion on the forums about standardizing item names across all pages. We did reach a consensus, however I still sense there may be some confusion regarding the chosen capitalization scheme. Additionally, there were just three of us who provided input and I wanted to reopen the discussion one last time to all parties before posting the policy on the Project Furniture page and suggesting changes to Nookipedia:Policy. The following is a summary of our decisions and a few concerns that we need to keep in mind:

Proposed capitalization rules:

The first letter of each word in an item's name is capitalized. e.g., Blue Chair, Hi-Fi Stereo, Large Bass
The terms 'series', 'theme', 'set' and 'category' are not capitalized. e.g., Blue series, Construction theme, Totem Pole set, Instruments category

The decision to capitalize item names is pretty arbitrary, one of the main benefits of the proposed rules is that this style matches what already appears on most of Nookipedia's pages.

Other considerations:

The Animal Crossing games do not use any capitalization; all items are lowercase and all series, theme, set and category names are lowercase. Because of this, we get periodical edits on any page with lots of item names, where a (usually unregistered) user will make every name on the page lowercase. One advantage of choosing the all-lowercase style would be to mimic the games and (hopefully) reduce 'vandalism' by well-intentioned users. On the flip-side, we would have to edit many of the pages on Nookipedia which already use the mostly-capitalized style.

If you have any questions, comments, suggestions or concerns (whether you've voiced your opinion before or not) please post them below. If there are no objections to the proposed capitalization rules we will move forward them within the next few days. --sunmarsh (talk)

The proposed capitalization rules look fine to me. I think going through and making everything lower-case would be a lot more effort than it's worth, especially considering that the wiki likes to capitalize the first letter of each page by itself anyway. --Jake 15:28, August 8, 2014 (EDT)
Personally I am very passionate for everything being lowercase. ~~SuperAlpaca (talk) 21:54, August 8, 2014 (EDT)
I agree with Jake. In my opinion, making everything lower-case would take a lot more effort than it's worth and wouldn't be aesthetically pleasing. That's my two cents on the matter, but I'll leave it up to finding a fair and justifiable compromise. --XXSuperXXNintendoXx (talk) 22:13, August 8, 2014 (EDT)
I'm not sure how we can compromise on this, other than capitalizing only the first word of a multiple-word item name. Even then we'd have our hands full making changes. The only thing I can think of is to use the poll on the homepage to get everyone's feedback on this. We just have to commit to making whatever changes are recommended by the popular vote (otherwise, why bother putting up a poll). --sunmarsh (talk) 15:01, August 9, 2014 (EDT)
I personally don't have a strong preference either way, but I do like the poll idea. Wouldn't hurt to get reader input instead of the views of a few editors. I'd be willing to abide by whatever the poll outcome is. ~SuperHamster Talk 16:39, August 9, 2014 (EDT)

The poll is live, for anyone interested. I say we wait at least a week for feedback? The previous poll had over 1k votes but it was up for a year or more. --sunmarsh (talk) 21:31, August 13, 2014 (EDT)

Sounds good to me - could even close earlier, seeing that the first option has strong support (if the current trend continues). ~SuperHamster Talk 14:27, August 14, 2014 (EDT)
It seems that the first option continues to increase in majority vote percentage, so I think it's safe to say it is the clear winner here. If a staff member who is capable of doing so would like to make a change to the capitalization section of Nookipedia:Policy, that would be great. Once this is done I can note the changes on the Project Furniture page. Also, it may be beneficial to take a screenshot of the poll results as a record/reasoning for the decision prior to closing it. --sunmarsh (talk) 18:37, August 18, 2014 (EDT)
Done! Updated the policy, added a screenshot, and created a new poll for the main page. Thanks, ~SuperHamster Talk 18:53, August 18, 2014 (EDT)

In the Animal crossing games, not all the furniture names are lower-case. Proper nouns such as Gracie or Pave are capitalized in-game. --108.40.197.250 12:18, August 25, 2014 (EDT)

Official name and abbreviation for Japanese-only AC titles

The wiki does not make consistent references to the Japanese titles. Their article names are: Dōbutsu no Mori, Dōbutsu no Mori+ and Dōbutsu no Mori e+. However, I have seen references of "Animal Forest" on various pages, and when these titles are abbreviated we use the abbreviations AF, AF+ and AF e+. This is problematic/confusing. We even have templates DnM, and that utilize the Animal Forest abbreviations, but produce the Japanese romanizations Doubutsu no Mori, Doubutsu no Mori+ and Doubutsu no Mori e+. We need to come to an agreement on how to reference and abbreviate these titles. My vote is to use the romanizations (Dōbutsu no Mori etc.) as those are the article names. My vote for abbreviations: DnM, DnM+, DnMe+ --sunmarsh (talk) 17:54, September 5, 2014 (EDT)

We should use the romanizations instead, so I agree. Mario Signature.png 23:27, September 6, 2014 (EDT) I agree with super mario! I AM YOUR BIGGEST FAN!!--Marcus (talk) 10:09, October 1, 2014 (EDT)

Cooperation on community projects

In order to maximize our impact and more efficiently complete large tasks on the wiki, I thought it would be to everyone's benefit to come together and focus our energy on one project. In order to do this, we need to have detailed and continuous discussions about different aspects of the project in question. My initial thinking was to organize some sort of chat thread or forum to keep in touch with all interested editors, but after some thought, I've decided that the best place for these conversations to happen is right here on Nookipedia. It's important that the decisions we make be visible to the community. Additionally, this level of transparency makes it easier for outside users to follow our progress and discover our projects, allowing interested editors to join us more easily. An offsite chat thread or thread in a subforum is almost invisible- only known to those who already know of its existence.

To that end, I'd like to open up this page to discussion about what sorts of projects and ideas you want to focus on as a community. I will be reaching out to the recently active members of the wiki, but anyone reading this who has an interest in working towards a common goal is more than welcome to join us. If you're interested in helping out, please sign your name below along with a short list or description of a project (or projects) you'd like to focus on.

Interested parties:

 • Sunmarshsignature.png (talk) - furniture pages, villager pages, e-cards, merchandise, main game pages (ACGC, ACCF etc.), events, guide pages, furniture customization, game music
 • Mario Signature.png (game music, real-life information on bugs and fish, clothing, maybe letter formats)

My suggestion is to focus on furniture pages simply because it's an ongoing project that we've already committed ourselves to, however I'm open to other suggestions. Once we have decided on a project we will continue the discussion on that project's talk page. If anyone has any questions, comments or concerns about this collaboration project feel free to post them below as well! Sunmarshsignature.png (talk) 19:47, October 6, 2014 (EDT)

Hey, maybe we should add more people to Nookipedia: Project Furniture! I think more people could help with it.--Marcus (talk) 17:06, October 8, 2014 (EDT)

Hey, hey, I hope I'm not late on any input. Either way, I'm focusing all my effort on furniture pages. Furniture, in my opinion, is probably the best part of Animal Crossing, but I do enjoy catching the variety of bugs and fish. The neighbor part is probably one of the more boring things here, no offense. I kind of want to do some reenacting one more project, Project Fashion, but I don't want to attempt too many things at once. Mario Signature.png 16:57, October 10, 2014 (EDT)

Seeking Advice

I hope to become a helpful user, who makes edits and slightly helps the wiki. But to do so, I need someone to tell me how to make my own templates, and all that other stuff. Kit (talk)

Hello Kit, if you've never edited a wiki before my recommendation would be to check out the Getting Started page, paying specific attention to the Formatting Links section, as you'll be using links in every article you write or edit. I would also take a look at Help:Images and the tips at the top of Special:Upload. While learning how templates work is important, you won't have to create many new templates from scratch (unless you want to). We have many existing templates (type "template:" in the search bar to find them) and you can always take elements from templates you like and combine them to suit your needs. Other than that, I think the best way to learn is to start editing articles and paying close attention to the wikitext and what the different elements are producing on screen. I hope that helped and if you have any further questions, feel free to ask! Sunmarshsignature.png (talk) 13:19, October 12, 2014 (EDT)
I also want to add, you might want to specify what kinds of template you're interested in creating because there is quite a variety of templates so we can specify our advice too. Nevertheless, ask questions, play around, experiment, they're all encouraged here. Mario Signature.png 17:45, October 12, 2014 (EDT)

Ok, thanks guys! Kit (talk) 11:11, October 17, 2014 (EDT)

Browser add-on suggestion

I thought I would make a note here about a browser extension that I've found helpful for editing here on the wiki. The add-on is called Find and Replace for Firefox. There may be a similar extension available for Chrome users. The extension allows you to find and replace text in input fields (e.g. article wikitext), making it easier to make large amounts of repetitive changes. I find this is particularly helpful when converting tables over to the new ItemList template. If you guys have any recommendations about other helpful add-ons I've love to hear about them. Sunmarshsignature.png (talk) 16:39, October 18, 2014 (EDT)

Very nice, thanks :) I believe I've mentioned this elsewhere, but Lazarus is a lifesaver. It automatically saves text field inputs, which can save you for when you accidentally quit out of your editing window or your browser crashes. It's saved my back more than once. ~SuperHamster Talk 17:40, October 18, 2014 (EDT)
Go ahead and use it if you like! No one is stopping you. Mario Signature.png 15:18, October 19, 2014 (EDT)

How do you create a Userbox?'I know how to like use the HTML Userbox and all that, but I see userboxes like this <Mario> and all you have to do is type in Mario to make it work. do you know how to do that? --MarcusSignature.jpg 08:23, October 22, 2014 (EDT)

Userboxes like that, and the others listed on Nookipedia:Userboxes are set up as templates and placed on their own page so they can be easily added to another page without typing out the full code. For example, the code for the 'nocturnal user' userbox is on the page Template:UB Nocturnal. Userboxes with their own pages are typically those with general appeal, so if several people want to use a userbox, they don't need to copy and paste the full code.
If you there's a box that you think would be better off having its own page, you can create a template page with the userbox's code--and preferably some usage information--and then transclude it on another page with template's name as usual. At the moment there's not a lot of oversight on userboxes, but we're slowly working on organizing the templates. In the meantime, it'd be helpful if new userbox templates were named "Template:UB [something]" and added to Nookipedia:Userboxes and the userbox category. UB Fan Mario is a good example of a simple userbox template page. -Sky (talk) 19:33, October 21, 2014 (EDT)

Thank you for telling us about this omission, it's been updated now with the selling prices. And welcome to Nookipedia! i mean beta versions of the games. also, i almost never see a talk page Pac-banana (talk) 14:08, February 16, 2015 (EST)
Yes, but do you have any examples of what can be covered? We do cover the development of games (e.g. NL#Development_and_Unveiling); I'm not sure what else there is to say? Nintendo doesn't really launch beta versions of games, so if there isn't much information available on pre-release versions of the game, there's not much to write about.
Talk pages can be made by users if there are comments to be made, so feel free to make one if you have something to say about an article. ~SuperHamster Talk 14:14, February 16, 2015 (EST)
FYI, "beta" can mean a certain pre-release development stages in the game too ("alpha" is the stage before "beta". You have to be more specific on "beta versions" of games. Finally, don't create talk pages for the sake of creating talk pages. We create talk pages when questions concerning the articles arise, simple. Mario Signature.png 16:28, February 17, 2015 (EST)
Just chiming in here. There do exist what have been called 'beta worlds' or 'beta levels' by the AC community in ACGC (and I believe DnM, DnM+ and possibly DnM e+). These can be accessed by generating an invisible item (via cheating device) that when dropped and stepped on transports the player to a 'beta level'. There are half a dozen or so areas, most of which seem to have been designed to test different elements within the game. One of the 'beta levels' is actually the town from the start screen. Here is an example of one such beta world. Sunmarshsignature.png (talk) 16:41, February 17, 2015 (EST) I am back! Who missed me? Lol! I can help with the beta pags, if you guy want. That's because you put a space in front of it, and there's a formatting problem. Try this.

(talk)

I suggest you resize your name (the one in red) and put it next to the image, since it needs to be scaled at around this size or smaller.

Once you're done, create a userpage entitled User:SuperCofee/sig (click on the red link). Copy and paste the code provided here and save the page. Now, once you type ~~~~, this signature should show up as a stamp. Mario Signature.png 16:19, May 9, 2015 (EDT)

New topics go at the bottom of the page, just to let you know! Anyhow, to upload a file, click on the "Upload file" link on the bottom of that left green column, under "Tools". Once you get to that page, pick the image file, give it an appropriate name, and then upload it. Once it's done, to add the image in the page, embed the page title in double brackets like any other link (e.g. ). If you need any more help, don't hesitate to ask! The best way to do it would be to search for it in the search bar or Special:Search. Official romanization of Japanese-only titles

As I was creating redirect pages between the two romanizations of the Japanese-only Animal Crossing titles (e.g. Doubutsu no Mori redirects to Dōbutsu no Mori) I did some research and came across some evidence that we are using the unofficial romanizations for these titles. This picture of a Japan-only Club Nintendo exclusive Nintendo GameCube jewel featuring Timmy & Tommy features a romanization of the first game's title using "ou" instead of the "ō" to represent the long "o" sound. Furthermore, the Japan-only e-reader cards for Doubutsu no Mori+ also feature the "ou" spelling, and they show the plus mark in superscript! I wanted to get public input on this before changing our primary page names (and having an admin fix our newly created link templates). Sunmarshsignature.png (talk) 14:46, July 11, 2015 (EDT)

I suppose a rename would be reasonable, but there's no incorrect or correct romanization. It's still reasonable to assume that long vowel would use ō, oo, or ou. Mario Signature.png 00:00, July 12, 2015 (EDT)
I understand that 'ō' is still technically correct, however using it over 'ou' is a fairly arbitrary decision. If we switch to 'ou' at least we have a reason/precedence. Sunmarshsignature.png (talk) 13:03, July 12, 2015 (EDT)

A Pikmin e-card?

Hey all. Some days ago, I found this while searching up "Pikmin e-card" on Google. The thing is, nobody I know knows what this is all about. Do any of you have any clue? I'd like to add the info to Pikipedia, but I'd rather not add just a picture from a supposed eBay auction (check the URL) and say we have no info on it. Thanks! – (Espyo from Pikipedia), 89.152.247.250 12:25, July 25, 2015 (EDT)

Hey there, Espyo. :) That card is indeed legitimate; it's part of Series 2 of the Animal Crossing-e series of cards compatible with Animal Crossing and the Nintendo e-Reader. More info can be found here. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask. Sunmarshsignature.png (talk) 12:37, July 25, 2015 (EDT)

Oh, well, I'm a genius. Turns out we already had that on the wiki. It's just that nobody remembered, and because we don't have any picture of it on the article (too cramped), I just assumed we didn't. Thanks anyway! 89.152.247.250 15:41, July 27, 2015 (EDT)

Distributed Items pages need updating

The pages for DLC are heavily outdated and need to be updated. Especially the PAL-specific DLC page.

The City Folk section seems to be alright for North America. The Japan, PAL, and All pages need to formatted with this template as well as be updated. Lastly, the base DLC page, the NA page, and the Japan page need to be moved to Distributed items instead of Distributed Items. -- Pokebub (talk) 03:16, August 5, 2015 (EDT)

Thank you for pointing out the capitalization problems, it seems Red Snapper has taken care of it. As for updating the pages, yes, they need some work. Unfortunately we're rather short-staffed at the moment; I'll add it to my to-do list though! Sunmarshsignature.png (talk) 16:48, August 5, 2015 (EDT)

Merge handheld items

Things like ice cream, coffee, sparkling cider, pinwheels, Bunny Balloon, glowlights and other items should be merged into a single article called "handheld items" (dandelion can be mentioned as well). These items all have something in common: the players hold them, they serve no practical use, and they are not sold within the stores unless they are special occasions (such as glowlights; this makes them different from umbrellas). But, you guys can disagree; if that's the case, then at least put them in a category. They do have something in common, and it would be helpful to group them some way. Mario Signature.png 16:05, August 14, 2015 (EDT)

I'm definitely in favor. As individual articles very few of these will ever escape their stubby fates. Also don't forget Balloon (item), Party Popper, Sparkler, Roman Candle, Firework fountain, and Bubble Wand. We also need to decide whether to merge umbrella. I think it should remain a separate article but have a small section in Handheld items with a link to the main article.Sunmarshsignature.png (talk) 16:27, August 14, 2015 (EDT)

amiibo card file name conventions

Nintendo has opened up a new section of the animal-crossing website that features images of all the NA versions of the amiibo cards. I have also verified that the European version of the cards will have villager names in 5 different languages (English, Spanish, French, Italian and German) and will have a different serial number printed on them. I think it's important to have images of the cards from all regions, if only to have easy access to official names for most of the villagers in 6 languages. So in order to distinguish between the different regions I will be converting all existing images to the following naming convention: ### Name amiibo card Region.png (Example: 001 Isabelle amiibo card NA.png)

### will be the card number (between 001 and 401). This is important to include because some characters have more than one card (e.g. special edition Isabelle card). The region will be a two letter abbreviation (NA = North America, JP = Japan, and EU = Europe). I will be moving or deleting a lot of different files during this process and as a result pages with links to the old files will no longer display correctly. I will be fixing all the links as I go, but I just wanted to let everyone know that things are going to look weird for several hours as I upload and fix all the images. How do I add a picture to my profile?

I'm new here on Nookipedia; I started editing about a month ago. I'd like to add a picture to my profile, but I don't know how. Could anyone explain how?

Sorry to disappoint you, but...you can't! That's a feature limited to Wikia and the Bulletin Board forums. You could, however, upload a file from your computer, etc., making sure to mark it as a 'personal image', and then place it on your user page. Hope that helped! Red (snappity snap snap!) HHD icons

I actually like the icons for Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer, and I'm actually tempted to use those instead for our furniture articles (they look better and are available to the general public unlike the current images), but on the other hand, we don't have a lot of information for Happy Home Designer itself, and I'm not exactly sure how the game works. Maybe it's a good idea to squeeze those images in an external gallery for the time being? Mario Signature.png 00:10, November 5, 2015 (EST)

I've been playing Happy Home Designer for a few weeks now (currently working on some articles) -- I can confirm that the items in HHD are exactly the same as those in New Leaf. But the catalog icons are incredibly high-quality, as you can see -- they look even nicer than the NL catalog, even though they are smaller. I think it would be safe to use them in furniture articles. Nikol (talk) 16:14, November 18, 2015 (EST)
