A beehive is an item in all games of the Animal Crossing series, however it can be picked up only in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, as it disappears as soon as it hits the ground in previous games. Upon hitting the ground, it spawns a swarm of bees which will chase the player until they enter a building, the bees sting the player, or the player successfully catches a bee with their net. Beehives are found in trees. They can be sold in New Leaf for 500 bells. Beehives do not fall out of trees in New Leaf when the player's gate is open.
