Beta Items are items found in certain games which were intentionally removed from normal gameplay or the final release. They were originally added for Beta Testing, which allows a game developer to test and demonstrate certain features in a game, sometimes to a limited audience. In the Animal Crossing series, some of the games hold Beta items which can be found in the source coding or were previously announced but not included when finally released. Obtaining such items usually involves "hacking" the game using third party software. Animal Crossing has a few Beta items, one of which is the sickle.
