Dotty is a peppy rabbit villager in the Animal Crossing series who appears in all games to date. Her name, which means "eccentric," may refer to her personality, or it may refer to the large black spots on her body.
In New Horizons, Dotty has the fashion hobby and may be seen wearing a pink purse with a white flower on it, as well as a specific headwear or accessory item.
Characteristics
Appearance
Dotty is a white rabbit with black spots, possibly based on a Dutch rabbit. She has white paws, black arms, and teal inside of her ears. She has a smile by default and round eyes which turn red when she is surprised or shocked.
Personality
Below is a brief description of the peppy personality. For more information, click here.
As a peppy villager, she will always appear to be in a good mood. She will get along with other villagers including the player, making it easy to befriend her and gain her picture in Animal Crossing: Wild World. She will enjoy the usual hobbies, and may ask the player for bugs or fish that she finds cute. She will easily get upset, but due to a short attention span she will forget ever having the conversation. Like all peppy villagers, she dreams of becoming famous in the future and reads Ms. Nintendique, an unseen magazine read by snooty and peppy villagers in Animal Crossing: Wild World. She will get on well with normal, lazy, jock and other peppy villagers, but may annoy snooty and cranky villagers with her upbeat personality.

House
In all games except Animal Crossing, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Dotty's moon-themed house interior is likely a reference to the Japanese myth of the moon rabbit. According to the myth, the dark side of the moon looks like a rabbit making mochi (a Japanese snack associated with the New Year). This house trait is shared with four other rabbit villagers: Carmen's moon-themed house interior in Animal Crossing: City Folk; Mira's moon base-themed house interior in Animal Crossing: New Leaf; Ruby's moon-themed house interior in all of her game appearances; and Sasha's moon-themed house request in Animal Crossing: New Horizons – Happy Home Paradise.

In New Horizons
In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, if Dotty is one of the villagers who moved in during the main storyline after the villager house development quest, her house will have a combination of non-craftable furniture, plus items crafted by players during the island development storyline, primarily from the Wooden Block Series. She cannot have her initial house interior unless she moves out of the player's island or the Happy Home Paradise DLC is purchased, in which either the player or Isabelle can reset the interior.

Profile: | Dotty is a talker. Most of the time, she's just talking about herself, and there's plenty to talk about! Let's just say Dotty has "unique" ideas when it comes to interior design. |
