Welcome!

Welcome to Nookipedia, Acnh Player!
Nookipedia.png
We're glad you've taken the step to create an account and edit our wiki! With an account you'll now be able to easily edit pages, participate in discussions, watch pages, track your edits, and have access to additional editing tools. You can also create and edit your own user page.

If you intend to continue editing, here are some things to keep in mind:

  • Read our wiki's general use and editing, and privacy policies.
  • Preview your changes before saving them to avoid the need for making corrections afterwards.
  • Use talk pages to resolve editing disputes instead of undoing or reinstating changes repeatedly without discussion.
  • Sign all talk page posts with four tildes (~~~~). This code will automatically leave your name and a timestamp.

You can find editing tutorials and further information about our policies on the help pages.

Where to start? Check out the The Roost for the latest discussions, or consult the to-do list on the Main Page to see tasks that need to be worked on.
Questions? Feel free to ask a member of staff directly, post your question on the The Roost talk page, or ask about it on our Discord icon Discord server. We're always happy to help!
Thank you for your contributions, and have a great time! -- Nookipedia Staff

Avoid second-person writing

Hello, I've noticed several of your edits (such as this one) include second-person writing in them (i.e. usage of the words "you" or "your" when referring to the player). Just want to let you know that the Manual of Style states that articles should never be written in the second-person (or first-person, for that matter); in any context that refers to the "player", they must be referred to as such instead of saying "you" or "your".

To give an example, instead of:

"You must buy 15 items to upgrade Tom Nook's shop."

It should be:

"The player must buy 15 items to upgrade Tom Nook's shop."

Alternatively, you can avoid referring to the player altogether if applicable. For example:

"A total of 15 items must be bought to upgrade Tom Nook's shop."

Hope my advice helped. Snapping Turtle NH Icon.pngThe Jacketed TerrapinSoft-Shelled Turtle NH Icon.png 22:55, March 8, 2024 (EST)

Repeating information

Please make sure to read through articles before adding information to make sure you're not repeating something that is already there, as you have done in several of your edits. Thank you for your understanding. ~ AlexBot2004 (Talk) 15:16, March 9, 2024 (EST)

What does the Status mean?

It says that my status is "inactive" even though I edit every day. What does inactive or active even mean? Can someone answer my question???Acnh Player (talk) 12:41, March 10, 2024 (EDT)

It looks like you haven't added yourself to Template:Activity. Hope this helps! Drago (talk) Drago PC Villager Icon.png 14:03, March 10, 2024 (EDT)
Sorry, I don't get what you are saying. Acnh Player (talk) 14:07, March 10, 2024 (EDT)
Nookipedia staff have their status automatically determined by {{Activity}}, which is why the syntax |status = {{Activity|user=username_here}} normally outputs "Active" for {{Infobox User}}. For normal users, you can just write |status = Active if you want it to display the word "Active" instead of "Inactive." HylianAngel (talk) 17:09, March 10, 2024 (EDT)

Signing messages

Please remember to sign your messages (this includes messages you leave on noticeboards, such as Nookipedia:Staff_noticeboard). Thanks, ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 01:44, March 25, 2024 (EDT)

Sorry to have to intervene again, but Nookipedia:Signature policy requires your signature to contain a link to your user page, and yours currently doesn't. Thanks! Drago (talk) Drago PC Villager Icon.png 12:13, March 26, 2024 (EDT)
Excuse me, what in the world are you talking about? Am I in french class? I don't get what you are saying.Acnh Player (talk) 12:21, March 26, 2024 (EDT)
I've noticed that you've changed your signature and you now comply with the policy - thanks for doing this! Drago (talk) Drago PC Villager Icon.png 13:38, March 28, 2024 (EDT)

Template:Vandalism-only Account

As much as I appreciate it when users look out for vandalism, I've unfortunately deleted this template you created because I don't think it's necessary to have. We already have Template:Block, and under current procedure, creating talk pages for obvious trolls isn't recommended anyway. Basically, it's best not to give trolls too much attention or they're more likely to return and vandalize again. Thank you for understanding! Drago (talk) Drago PC Villager Icon.png 13:44, March 25, 2024 (EDT)

Moving pages without consensus / Reminder for previous messages

Please do not move articles without first starting a discussion on that article's talk page to gain consensus. Also, as you have been told previously, please make sure to check if the information you are adding is not already there before submitting your edits, and do not use second-person writing ("you") in articles. Continuing to ignore these messages and make these kinds of edits will result in a warning. ~ AlexBot2004 (Talk) 23:55, March 26, 2024 (EDT)

Sorry, I will try to remember next time. I am not ignoring the messages, I am trying to remember. Please don't think I am ignoring them. I just forgot. Please don't give a warning.😥😥 Acnh Player (talk) 00:01, March 27, 2024 (EDT)
Even if you intend to follow these reminders, what matters is actually following them. Your actions speak louder than words, so your future edits—not talk page promises—will determine whether you receive a warning. ~ AlexBot2004 (Talk) 00:23, March 27, 2024 (EDT)

Do all your small edits at once

Hello. When making several small changes to a page, you should do all them at once rather than separately. Making several consecutive edits to one page (like with your edits on the "Balloon (item)/Gallery" page) can clog up its edit history page, as well as the Recent Changes page. Not only does this make your edits more cumbersome to review, but it can potentially make it more difficult to spot a bad edit or two in the Recent Changes page.

To avoid this, you should edit the entire page rather than edit each section one by one. This can be done by clicking "Edit" near the top right of the page.

On a side note, if you want to make sure your edits look good before saving them, you should make use of the "Show preview" button, which is right next to the "Save changes" button. This button allows you to further proofread any edits that can't be checked with the wiki editor, such as if a link or an image is working properly or not. Can you please be more specific in where you got File:Damselfly.jpg from? The source you gave is too vague and I don't think we can accept it. Drago (talk) Drago PC Villager Icon.png 13:59, March 28, 2024 (EDT)

My IP has been autoblocked for some reason

I just figured out yesterday, that my IP address has been autoblocked. I can edit in my account, but if I log out and try to edit, this happens:

You do not have permission to edit this page, for the following reason:

Your username or IP address has been automatically blocked by MediaWiki. The reason given is:

Your IP address is listed as an open proxy in the DNSBL used by Nookipedia.

  • Start of block: 12:18, March 29, 2024
  • Expiration of block: infinite
  • Intended blockee: 50.47.136.167
  • Your current IP address is 50.47.136.167. Please include all above details in any queries you make.

It also won't let people with my same IP address to create accounts. Is there anything you can do about it? ACL.png Acnh Player (talk) ACL.png 12:29, March 29, 2024 (EDT)

Are you editing through Tor? I do remember that we started blocking editing from Tor as an anti-vandal measure a while back.
Because these blocks don't appear in any logs I can't unblock you myself, but at least you're able to edit while logged in. I would have predicted that an open proxy block would prevent logged-in editing too, but thankfully not in this case! Drago (talk) Drago PC Villager Icon.png 12:49, March 29, 2024 (EDT)
Hopefully, we won't get jinxed. ACL.png Acnh Player (talk) ACL.png 13:40, March 29, 2024 (EDT)

Wikipedia issues

Hi - you need to stop bringing up your grievances with Wikipedia here. Posting the same complaints across multiple talk pages (including Talk:Ball and Nookipedia:Staff noticeboard) is off-topic and disruptive. Looking at your contributions on Wikipedia, you were making disruptive edits and were rightfully blocked. Any wiki is rightfully considered unreliable as a source on Wikipedia. Nookipedia is not the place to bring up your grievances with Wikipedia, and it's definitely not the place to ask others to break Wikipedia's rules and make a sockpuppet account for you. ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 16:21, March 31, 2024 (EDT)

Removing talk page posts

You've been told by four different users not to remove talk page posts (HylianAngel, myself, Drago, and Trig Jegman), as it goes against Nookipedia's policies, so I heavily advise you follow these instructions instead of continuing to ignore them. Editing issues

I'm very sorry to have to intervene again here, but...despite all the messages you've already received, I'm still noticing numerous problems with your editing. I'm not going to give you a warning template just now, but I do want to give you some advice on a few things:

  • Please re-read what Hylian said on her talk page about uploading images. For example, you're still including Critterpedia in the name and description of New Leaf uploads even though the Critterpedia isn't in New Leaf. It wasn't introduced until New Horizons. I'd appreciate it if you could help us fix these uploads because you've uploaded a lot that have errors.
  • Although new stub articles are allowed, it makes sense to at least have some information you can include on the subject before creating them, or let someone else do it if you don't have any. Several of your new articles were deleted because they consisted of only one sentence.
  • As Alex explained, please make sure what you're adding to an article really needs to be there, and isn't already covered. It's better to try and fill in the gaps and look for information that's missing, rather than add redundant information for the sake of it.

As I said, this is only advice and not a warning. However, making a lot of edits that need to be reverted can be disruptive (and this uses up a lot of our time) so could result in harsher warnings if it continues. Drago (talk) Drago PC Villager Icon.png 14:07, April 13, 2024 (EDT)

Sorry. I searched up Critterpedia in NL and found the file, so I didn't know. Also the only AC game I have is New horizons. Please forgive. ACL.png Acnh Player (talk) ACL.png 14:12, April 13, 2024 (EDT)

Warning

You have received a warning from Nookipedia staff.
Based on your recent conduct with your staff application and the recent proposals stuff that you brought up, it's becoming very clear that you are being a disruption to Nookipedia. Please improve on your behavior and assume good faith for everyone. I know it's frustrating to see people oppose your side of the argument, but you should not take a disruptive approach to get people on your side. -- PanchamBro (talkcontributions) 01:44, April 15, 2024 (EDT)
Please ensure you follow Nookipedia policy. Further violations may result in being permanently or temporarily blocked from editing.
Thank you for your cooperation. -- Nookipedia Staff
This is soooo unfair. Opposing is allowed. I am so mad right now. ACL.png Acnh Player (talk) ACL.png 11:13, April 15, 2024 (EDT)
Opposing is of course allowed, and you're absolutely welcome to give your own opinion, even if it doesn't agree with the opinions of other editors. But you need to be civil when taking part in these discussions, and respect the opinions of other editors even if they're different from yours. It's the comments that you're making alongside the votes (and in the staff application) that have resulted in the warning; for example remarks such as this can come across as rude. Hopefully we can avoid any more of these issues by working together though. Thanks, Drago (talk) Drago PC Villager Icon.png 13:23, April 15, 2024 (EDT)
What did I do wrong in the proposals? And Pachambro said I am a disruption to nookipedia. I mean, that's very rude. He/she wasn't being civil either. ACL.png Acnh Player (talk) ACL.png 18:36, April 15, 2024 (EDT)
Being disruptive in wiki terms is being rude to me and many others and accusing others of being rude in return. Also I'm not willing to remove a warning especially because I want you to learn that being a good wiki editor requires being civil enough and engaging with the community without being looked as being rude in the process. I'm not trying to be rude, though if I feel a bit blunt, I apologize, but there is no other way to get this message that you are doing something wrong if I didn't warn you about it.
Do not take this personally. I know many people like you are excited to become a staff member, and also disappointed if that dream doesn't come true. But as I mentioned before, if you want to be a staff member, you have to earn it. Taking the easy route isn't going to guarantee your success of becoming staff. What I can recommend is you to start branching from editing the gallery pages for insects. Start editing real articles, and start making high quality edits. Make a summary that is well-written that isn't repeating information already said. And make these edits in one-go, don't make a lot of edits on one page; that floods Recent Changes. From this warning template there is a link to all our policies, and I want you to go through our policies and if you need help with anything at all, we have a section with every helpful information you can use, including our Manual of Style which is very important.
I don't want to repeat myself again telling you what you did wrong, so here's my advice: if you want no further warnings, please listen to staff. We take our job seriously with regards to how we take care of this nice wiki and it is something you should learn more about if you really really want to be a patroller. So be nice to everyone here, and contribute more. Thanks. -- PanchamBro (talkcontributions) 21:27, April 15, 2024 (EDT)
I promise I will be very civil with other users, and not be disrespectful to people who are not on my side. I P-R-O-M-I-S-E. Can you please remove the warning now that I understand what I did wrong? ACL.png Acnh Player (talk) ACL.png 00:21, April 16, 2024 (EDT)
Sadly, it is a permanent user record. But as I said, you could learn from this mistake. Please follow my words carefully. -- PanchamBro (talkcontributions) 01:07, April 16, 2024 (EDT)
P-L-E-A-S-E P-L-E-A-S-E. I P-R-O-M-I-S-E I will stop. Please, can you remove the warning? I ablsolutly know what I did wrong, and what I will do better next time. If you remove the warning, you can come to my island in animal crossing once I get online play. I will also fix a vast majority of image needed pages. 🙏🥺🙏🥺🙏🥺🙏🥺🙏🥺🙏 ACL.png Acnh Player (talk) ACL.png 19:07, April 16, 2024 (EDT)
Sorry, but this is not negotiable. Warnings cannot be removed; however, if you follow the advice given to you here and improve your behavior, you shouldn't have anything to worry about. ~ AlexBot2004 (Talk) 19:31, April 16, 2024 (EDT)
Can I at least move it to archive? ACL.png Acnh Player (talk) ACL.png 19:32, April 16, 2024 (EDT)
The warning was only posted a day ago, so it will remain here for the time being. ~ AlexBot2004 (Talk) 19:36, April 16, 2024 (EDT)

Regarding your recent page move

You moved a page (Distributed items) before the discussion about the page move was closed. And especially because there isn't enough consensus at the moment if we need to move to distributed content or distributions. Please be patient with these discussions! I'd give it about like 5 votes and especially with a clear winner to close a discussion for a page move. -- PanchamBro (talkcontributions) 22:35, April 16, 2024 (EDT)

Re:Cargo table stuff

I appreciate your message and enthusiasm about making a cargo page for Pocket Camp bugs. That said:

  1. We still need to make set up data for all bugs. And not just that, make sure it's clean enough to be used in a way where data can be outputted.
  2. Not only that, I would then need to set up all the cargo table stuff, and on my current ongoing struggles to keep up with schedule, that's a task that I cannot do immediately.

But if you want help setting up a cargo table that a cargo admin can create, you can check out Extension:Cargo/Storing data, which shows you how cargo data is stored. I would advise however that you discuss any cargo-related questions from now on to people that are responsible for cargo tables, such as SuperHamster (talk | contribs | logs) or AlexBot2004 (talk | contribs | logs), as again I am too occupied with other tasks at hand. -- PanchamBro (talkcontributions) 15:28, May 5, 2024 (EDT)

Page creation

I see you've been creating some of the pages at Special:WantedPages; however, you need to make sure you have a good grasp of the subject before making an article on it. In the case of your Glowing Garden Set article, the article was padded by unnecessary descriptions of the items' appearances and non-neutral language that is not fit for an encyclopedia, while lacking any real useful information, such as a list of items in the set or even what game it is in. Looking at the language used in the article, along with the fact that the items described do not seem to exist, it seems that you might have used AI to generate an article for you. It is not at all acceptable to use AI to write an article for you; everything you write on the wiki must be actually written by you. As for your Pocket Camp bug list, it did not contain any information—if data is not present on the wiki, creating a stub page just to ask for that data to be added is not the way to go about adding it. Do not create an insufficient stub just for the sake of creating it. Thanks, ~ AlexBot2004 (Talk) 16:07, May 5, 2024 (EDT)

Sorry for using ChatGPT. ACL.png Acnh Player (talk) ACL.png 16:17, May 5, 2024 (EDT)

Warning

You have received a warning from Nookipedia staff.
This warning is for your repeated abuse of Nookipedia's proposal system. In this last month, you have created four proposals that have been vetoed for not meeting the requirements for a proposal. After your third proposal was vetoed, I explained to you what should and should not be in a proposal, and warned that further unfit proposals would lead to an official warning. However, you continued, and in your latest proposal regarding the block policy, most of your proposed changes are already in effect in said policy. Please carefully read the rules before making a proposal, and keep in mind that not all changes need to be suggested as a proposal; smaller changes can be done as standard talk page discussions. ~ AlexBot2004 (Talk) 22:50, May 8, 2024 (EDT)
Please ensure you follow Nookipedia policy. Further violations may result in being permanently or temporarily blocked from editing.
Thank you for your cooperation. -- Nookipedia Staff
Sorry. I didn't know that the rules already existed on a page. Plus it wasn't for a malicious purpose. Sorry I will stop. ACL.png Acnh Player (talk) ACL.png 18:50, May 9, 2024 (EDT)

Final warning

You have received a final warning from Nookipedia staff.
This warning is for your recent moderation-related edits:
  • In this talk page message, you warned a new user about previewing their edits. The edits in question were four edits to the Club LOL page, which hardly constitutes "consecutive editing." Often times, editors (myself included) submit an edit, then notice a mistake or think of something else to add shortly after. Users only need to be reminded to use the "show preview" button if their consecutive edits are excessive and across several pages.
  • In this edit, you undid a constructive edit based on staff members' earlier reversions of Moses Sin's edits. You should not imitate what you think the staff would do; in this case, you failed to understand that Moses Sin's edits were undone because they were adding excessive and unnecessary Wikipedia links to pages. This does not mean that all Wikipedia links should be removed.
  • In this edit and the following talk page message, you undid a good-faith edit from a new user and came across as rude in your edit summary and talk page message. First, the talk page message was not needed, as it basically restated your edit summary. Second, the language used (saying the edit did not make sense and questioning the editor's intent) can be discouraging to editors who just wanted to make a constructive contribution to the wiki.
  • Most recently, you created Moses Sin's userpage to place a block notice on it. This was not needed, as the notice is already on the user's talk page, and a MediaWiki system notice is displayed when viewing their (non-existent) userpage.

These edits give the impression that you are trying to act like a staff member by moderating edits and users. They also give the impression that you are just trying to imitate what you see staff members do, rather than actually trying to help out users. Additionally, the talk page messages you have left for new users can give them the false impression that you are a staff member. This is your final warning, since you have already been warned twice recently for other disruptive behavior. Any further disruptive behavior will result in a block. ~ AlexBot2004 (Talk) 11:05, May 20, 2024 (EDT)

Please ensure you follow Nookipedia policy. This is your final warning. Your next violation will result in being blocked from editing.

However, there will be no further warnings for your behaviour. The next time you engage in disruptive behaviour of any kind, or attempt to remove an active warning from your talk page, you will be blocked. --Shark HHD Icon.png Dorsal Axe (talk) 04:30, May 29, 2024 (EDT)
What is an active warning and what is considered an active warning? ACL.png Acnh Player (talk) ACL.png 22:05, May 30, 2024 (EDT)
It basically means it was issued recently, though there's nothing concrete on how long a warning will remain active for. Even if archived (which should only be done infrequently when your talk page is getting too long), it doesn't stop it being kept in mind by staff when deciding on whether to take further action. Restarting

Alright, so as you know, I am planning on restarting my Animal Crossing New Horizons island, so what tips do you have? I have a lot of stuff on my current island, but I want to restart. Thanks *~<Melodii>~* (talk) 09:44, May 24, 2024 (EDT)

First, choose the island type which has a peninsula on the right. ACL.png Acnh Player (talk) ACL.png 18:21, May 24, 2024 (EDT)

Blocked for one month

Given that you have not adhered to the warnings that we have provided over the past month or so, you've been blocked for a month. I want you not to take this as a "bad thing" as you have continued to do with the warnings that you opted to entirely ignore, and instead take this as an opportunity to improve your behavior. This will be your only chance at improving, anything you do after this block will result in a permanent ban. Me and the other staff will closely monitor your off-wiki activity as well, so I suggest you don't do anything derogatory to us during this period, otherwise you'll never have another chance editing here on Nookipedia. -- PanchamBro (talkcontributions) 11:01, May 29, 2024 (EDT)

I am so sorry. I will stop. Also, I tried to follow the warnings but I kept making mistakes. I am so sorry. ACL.png Acnh Player (talk) ACL.png 18:24, May 29, 2024 (EDT)
The staff mutually agreed on this block. Begging staff members to unblock you (as you did in the Discord server) will not help your case and can lead to an indefinite block if it continues. ~ AlexBot2004 (Talk) 19:05, May 29, 2024 (EDT)
What does mutual mean? ACL.png Acnh Player (talk) ACL.png 19:06, May 29, 2024 (EDT)
It means that the block was agreed upon and had support from multiple staff members, rather than being a decision made by just one. Drago (talk) Drago PC Villager Icon.png 11:20, May 31, 2024 (EDT)

Even if I am banned, I can still edit this particular page. But this is the only one I can edit for one month. Let's chat! ACL.png Acnh Player (talk) ACL.png 18:40, May 31, 2024 (EDT)
