It sounds like pioneers on the Oregon Trail.
Or settlers living on the prairie in the Midwest in the late 1800s. Living out on some homestead and there are a bunch of buffalo everywhere. This sounds like a song that would play when they go into town. Maybe somewhere in Nebraska or Kansas or Dakota.
