Painting: Genuine or Not?[edit]

My experience has told me that this painting is always genuine in NL. Is this different in other versions of the game? --Albinopenguin (talk) 23:37, March 24, 2015 (EDT)

The older games, if I recall correctly, doesn't have a "forged" and a "real" version of the painting. The only way you'd know is when you try donating the painting. Redd has some subtle facial cues before you buy a painting, but that's your only indicator, and it's not 100% reliable. But I'm basing off what I've read, so I could be wrong. Well, the wiki says that "his emotions will often signal if it is a fake. If he displays a glint in his eye or the "mischievous" emotion, the painting is probably a fake." So, any weight to that claim? Mario Signature.png 15:58, March 26, 2015 (EDT)
Personally, I too have heard claims that Redd's facial emotions could be used to determine whether a painting was fake or not. However, villagers' statements being determinors is something I haven't seen until now. I say we put up a notice stating that a citation with a source is needed for the claim, and if one isn't provided, it will be removed, albeit we will readd it if an editor comes across a reliable source.--XXSuperXXNintendoXx (talk) 22:50, March 26, 2015 (EDT)
