Egbert (しもやけ, Shimoyake) is a lazy, chicken villager in the Animal Crossing series. His name may have come from egg, as chickens lay eggs.

Egbert is a yellow chicken with striped, orange legs. He has a short orange beak. He has black rings under his eyes, which give him a tired appearance. His comb is red. He has a slightly dazed expression on his face. His initial shirt is the Swell shirt.

As a lazy villager, Egbert will be easy to get along with due to his laid back lifestyle. Like all lazy villagers, he shares an interest in food and relaxing. He will enjoy partaking in the usual hobbies, usually for relaxing reasons or for food (fishing). He will get along well with other villager types such as the normal villagers who act as a mother or elder sister figure and peppy villagers who appear to be around the same age. He may offend or confuse jock villagers, who have a conflicting lifestyle of exercise and fitness, who do not understand the reason behind the lazy lifestyle choice.

House

Egbert's initial house has a mosaic wall and blue floor, a cream sofa, 2 gyroids, and several items from the robo set. His stereo plays K.K. Technopop.
