The Bus is a new transportation system, introduced in City Folk or Let's go to the City. Driven by Kapp'n, who also drives the taxi in Wild World and the Boat in New Leaf. The Bus takes you to the City once you have finished working part time for Tom Nook. It is styled on the typical North American school bus - a yellow bus with (usually) a green line going around the bus. To catch the bus to the City, just go to the Bus stop in front of the Main Gate.
When starting the game for the first time, the player is on the bus talking to Rover the cat, while Kapp'n whistles a tune in the background. During this chat, the town name is determined as well as the player's gender and facial appearance which is decided by how you answer the questions. If you get a bad hairstyle, don't worry because you can get a new one in the City for 3000 Bells. After this, Kapp'n interupts Rover and alerts the two that the bus is shortly going to arrive at the town, where the player is dropped off at the Bus Stop in front of the Town Gate.
During trips to the City, Kapp'n will make small talk to the player, usually about the city and lasses (if male) or appear flirtatious (if female). If there is no response, he will whistle to himself until the 'A' button is pressed to reveal the next bit of dialogue. The tune he whistles is the same tune as the one playing on the radio in the Wild World taxi at the start of the game and the sea shanty he sings while going to the island in Template:AF+, Animal Crossing, and Template:AFe+.
A few things to notice on the bus is a big drawing of Lyle on the back of Kapp'n's seat and a little model of Kapp'n sailing on a boat which he only did in the original Animal Crossing. There is also a Bus Model that Nintendo distributed on Teacher Appreciation Week.
To use the bus to go to the city just go to the bus stop and walk up to the sign and press "a" you will then be asked weather you want to go to the city and you say yes. You can go on the bus at any time but the shops in the city won't always be open for business when you go there.
