Silver tools are items found in Animal Crossing: City Folk and Animal Crossing: New Leaf. The items are the silver axe, net, slingshot, can, shovel, and rod. They have better attributes than the original tools, but are generally easier to obtain and less powerful than golden tools.
List of silver tools[edit]
Silver axe[edit]
The silver axe is a tool that compared to the regular axe is more durable, except in City Folk where it is unbreakable. In Animal Crossing: City Folk, the player has to throw their axe into the town's fountain in order to summon Serena, who has a chance to give the player the silver axe.
In New Leaf, the silver axe can be purchased from the Souvenir Shop for 8 medals. The silver axe can be used 136 times to hit trees or rocks. It is also faster than the regular axe and will always leave special stump designs when chopping down trees.
Silver rod[edit]
The silver rod is a tool that compared to the regular fishing rod is better at catching fish. In City Folk, it can be purchased from Tom Nook's store after it upgrades to Nook 'n' Go for 500 Bells, occasionally replacing the regular fishing rod.
In New Leaf, the silver rod can be purchased from the Museum Shop for 500 Bells after 30 fishes and sea creatures have been donated to the museum.
Silver net[edit]
The silver net is a tool that compared to the regular net is better at catching bugs. In City Folk, it can be purchased from Tom Nook's store after it upgrades to Nook 'n' Go for 500 Bells, occasionally replacing the regular net.
In New Leaf, the silver net can be purchased from the Museum Shop for 500 Bells after 30 bugs have been donated to the museum.
Silver shovel[edit]
The silver shovel is a tool that compared to the regular shovel has unique perks when hitting money rocks. In City Folk, the silver shovel can be obtained by Mr. Resetti while inside the Reset Surveillance Center. When used on a money rock, it has a 10% chance to double the amount of Bells earned.
In New Leaf, the silver shovel can be purchased from the Museum Shop for 500 Bells. When used on a money rock, it has a chance to dispense ore instead of Bells.
Silver slingshot[edit]
The silver slingshot is a tool that compared to the regular slingshot can fire two pellets on balloons. In City Folk, it can be purchased from Tom Nook's store after it upgrades to Nook 'n' Go for 500 Bells, occasionally replacing the regular slingshot.
In New Leaf, the silver slingshot can be obtained from double golden balloons that the player has to shoot down. These double golden balloons only appear after shooting down 16 balloons.
Silver can[edit]
The silver can is a tool that compared to the regular watering can has unique perks when watering. In City Folk, the silver can will be mailed to the player by Posy Farm the next day after purchasing 50 flower seeds from Tom Nook's store. It can be used to revive wilted red turnips, although this will cause them to shrink back to their smallest size.
In New Leaf, the silver can can be obtained from Leif after purchasing 50 flower seeds from his store. It can water up to five flowers at once (the regular watering can will only water flowers on the space the player is standing on.)
