The giant isopod[nb 1] is a sea creature (fish in Pocket Camp) in the Animal Crossing series introduced in Animal Crossing: New Leaf.
While initially absent from Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the giant isopod was added in the 1.3.0 Free Summer Update, where it appears from 9 AM to 4 PM and 9 PM to 4 AM as a medium-sized, very fast shadow from mid summer to mid fall. It is the only sea creature in the game to appear during two timeframes in a single day. With a sell price of 12,000 Bells, it is tied with the spider crab for the second-most valuable sea creature in the game, after the gigas giant clam.
