Paint is a type of item in the first-generation games, Animal Crossing: Wild World, and Animal Crossing: City Folk that changes the color of the roof of the player's house. One can of paint can be purchased from Tom Nook's store each day for 980 Bells, and the color available changes each day. Once purchased, the roof color is automatically changed the next day, and the item never appears in the player's pockets. Additionally, Tom Nook lets the player pick the color of their roof when expanding their house.

In Animal Crossing: New Leaf and Animal Crossing: New Horizons, paint is replaced by the ability to customize the player's house, including the roof.
