== New layout feedback ==

Hi all! After more than five years with the previous layout, the Nookipedia team is excited to announce our new site skin! This current layout is themed around Pocket Camp, but in the coming months we're looking forward to cycling through different variations of the layout depending on the season, the holidays, etc.

We'll be spending the new few days tweaking it and wrapping up any loose ends. If you notice any bugs, glitches, or improvements that can be made to the skin, please let us know below. 

If you ever want to visit the old layout, logged in users can do so in their [[Special:Preferences|preferences]] (Appearance -> Nookipedia).

== Template revamp ==

To match the new design of the wiki, [[User:Dorsal Axe/Sandbox5|I've come up with a new look]] for various templates (mostly the [[:Category:Notice Templates|notice templates]]). I've tried to make them more clear and consistent in terms of purpose and language, and the accompanying pictures now feature animals that are IMO a little more relevant to what the notice is about. I've also merged some templates into one, such as the various region-exclusive event templates, which can be configured to the desired one with switches.

== How to add sheet music and accompanying sound? ==

Hello Nookipedia, I have a question concerning adding musical notation. I thought that it might be a good idea to add sheetmusic files with accompanying sound, sort of like the folks over at Pikipedia have for the music in that game. (Example in the link: https://www.pikminwiki.com/Music_in_Pikmin_3) So, my question is, how could I add something like that to Nookipedia for the music in these games? Is it possible? :Interesting idea! Do you know if there's official sheet music available out there? If not, were you thinking of transcribing yourself or finding existing transcripts? If its transcribed by third-parties, I'm not sure that would fall under our scope, but I'd like to see what others think. We've since migrated to our own Discord server, which is much more active and has a nice little community going. == Wiki proposal ==

I decided to have a proposal, if we have people from YouTube and Reddit by having an official Nookipedia account for those social media networks, it will benefit the Reddit and YouTube users if we allow them here. It could help us out and make things go faster and increase traffic here. I believe that Reddit has an Animal Crossing Fanbase, and as a former member of Reddit, I think that they will help us. As I seen that the official Nookipedia FaceBook and Twitter accounts is having little traffic for the wiki, I think that we, Nookipedia can benefit from Reddit and YouTube. :Hey John - thanks for the suggestions. Regarding reddit: we do actually do some outreach on the AC subreddit by hosting annual giveaways (here is [https://www.reddit.com/r/AnimalCrossing/comments/7ncpqw/giveaway_new_year_animal_crossing_giveaway/ last year's], and I'm planning on doing another this year). There are definitely other opportunities we can pursue on the Animal Crossing subreddit, such as doing outreach to invite editors, posting surveys to get reader feedback, etc. Something we'll look at in the coming months. In terms of hosting a Nookipedia subreddit or something of the sort, I'm not too convinced at what purpose that would serve, as AC fans will stick to the large AC subreddits.
:For YouTube, we actually [https://www.youtube.com/user/nookipedia do have an account], but it is inactive. Rebooting it would simply be a matter of someone willing to volunteer to maintain it. We'd have to determine what the purpose would be (archiving content? guide videos?).
