'''Rabbits''' are a species in the {{SER}} who appear both as [[villager]]s and as a [[special character]]. They have straight, upright ears and small, spherical tails. 

Twenty-two rabbit villagers have appeared in the series so far, along with one rabbit special character. Out of the rabbit villagers, twelve are female and ten are male, making it a predominantly female species. Of these, eight are [[peppy]], five are [[lazy]], two are [[smug]], two are [[jock]], two are [[snooty]], one is [[normal]], one is [[cranky]], and one is [[big sister]]. [[O'Hare]] was originally a cranky [[islander]] before becoming a smug villager in {{NL}}.

Due to [[Claude]] and [[Hopkins]] returning in the {{NLWa}} update, the rabbit, along with the [[horse]] and the [[tiger]], is the second villager species in which all of the villagers of that species appear in the same game together after {{DnMe+}}, the first being the [[octopus (species)|octopus]]. [[Doc]] is also absent from {{PC}}. [[Toby]] was initially absent in {{NH}}, but he reappeared in the [[Animal Crossing: New Horizons/Update history/1.9.0|1.9.0 Free Update]].
